A prequel to Sanguis City(July 2013), the first Short to the Sanguis City series.--- Lilanoir Rue, a side effect of The End of the world, has never had a say in her future until now. A rift between two factions of the Human Reservation is growing and she is offered a life with the man she loves. But nothing is ever normal for Lily, even something as simple as love. Used to being called a monster, Lily meets a real one at the worst possible moment but finds out that he isn't the only one she needs to fear.

                While I am not normally a fan of prequels, I do have to say that I did enjoy reading this one!  Knowing that there is a full length novel coming out soon, I think that the way that Morgan wrote this short was well done.  We were able to find out a little bit about Lilanoir and what her childhood was like.  There were little hints that we were able to learn things about her, but there was enough left out that it kept you wanting to know more and more!  I can’t wait to read the full length novel to come!

                One thing that I loved and hated about this short is the fact that it started at a different time than the first one!  I loved that fact because we were able to see another part of Noir’s life, in a new city with a new name.  I hated that fact as well because I wanted to know more about what happened!  Once again with this short, it is such a tease into the new novel that it leaves you wanting for more on many levels.  This prequel has just made it so I don’t want to wait to find out what happens!
