**This book contains Male Male Relations**
Everyone knows that
Prophet—former Navy SEAL, former CIA spook, full-time pain in the
ass—works alone and thinks only about the trouble he can cause. But his
boss, Phil Butler of Extreme Escapes, LTD., has just assigned Proph not
only a new partner but also a case haunted by ghosts from Proph’s past.
Suddenly, he’s got to confront them both head on.
Tom Boudreaux—failed FBI agent, failed sheriff, full time believer in bad luck—is wondering why the head of a private contracting firm has hunted him down to offer him a job. Still he's determined to succeed this time, despite being partnered with Prophet, EE, LTD’s most successful, lethal, and annoying operative, and even though the case is also resurrecting his own painful past.
Together, Prophet and Tom must find a way to take down killers in the dangerous world of underground cage matches, while fighting their own dangerous attraction. And when they find themselves caught in the crossfire, these two loners are forced to trust each other and work together to escape their ghosts . . . or pay the price.

I hate
series. With a passion. Usually what I will do if a book peeks my
interest and I know it will be part of a series, I will wait until all the
books are out so that I don’t have to wait for anything. I can read them all at once. (Smart move
hu??) I am very impatient when it comes
to waiting, just ask some of the authors that I stalk they can tell you!
When
this book first caught my attention on NetGalley, I was hoping and hoping that
I would get approved for it, and I was crazy excited, I think I even jumped up
and down a few times, when I found out that I got it. To be perfectly honest, it was because of the
cover. I THINK I read the blurb, but I
can’t tell you for certain or not. Anyway back to the book, so I got this book, settled
into my comfy bed that my dogs let me sleep on at night, sometimes, and cracked
open this book and started reading it.
Next
thing I know, I’m jumping up from the bed TICKED BEYOND ALL REASON because the
book was over! And then I noticed that 2
hours have passed and I hadn’t put the book down once! Not even taking a break to check how much
more I had left of it. This book was
amazing! Oh the suspense, drama, sex,
all rolled up into one book. *sigh*
The
characters in this book were very well written.
Prophet has this way about him, one minute I just wanted to cuddle him
on my lap, and then next I wanted to smack him upside the head. He was infuriating to say the least. I was amazed at how well he was written! Not that I had any doubts in SE’s writing
ability, but this is the first book I have read from her so I was sorta scared
a little bit. We were told enough about
him that we were kept interested, yet not enough because we still wondered what
was going on with him. Is he really as
strange as he acts like he is?
Oh and
Tom’s character. Wow I wish that he was
real and that he was straight because I would have him tied up in my
house. His character seemed completely
different than Prophet, but at the same time, they both have their
secrets. We are left wondering a lot
about his past and what caused him to be the way that he is. And we are left hating him too. Well at least I was, he was a BRAT and you
know I’m serious because I used all caps!
Anyway,
this book was extremely well done and I can’t wait for more to come in this
series!
