Scorned BLOG TOUR STOP!!!

Brody was determined to win her heart again.

Dimitris was hell-bent on getting her back.

Will she choose one or none?

Fiesty, vindictive and sharp-tongued, Lindsey Mason was always in love with her brother’s best friend, Brody. For years, she watched as he went through the women around her—but never her.

When Lindsey started dating another guy, Brody suddenly started to notice her. But Lindsey wouldn’t have it. She was determined to move past her unrequited love.

Her fate changed when she met the wealthy Greek actor, Dimitris Kosta. The playboy Greek McHottie was everything Lindsey wanted and hated. She was swept away in a whirlwind summer romance in the islands of Greece. But could her damaged heart finally learn to trust again?

Sara's Review:
I finished this book in less than 12 hours.  It kept me interested, but not how you might think.  I basically just had to get to the end before I threw my kindle across the room because the main characters in this story are completely infuriating.

Scorned is the story of Lindsay and Dmitri.  They are married, but were technically only “married” (as in together) for 4 days.  It’s a year later and Lindsay and Dmitri decide to go forward with a divorce.  Dmitri loves her, but she is woefully in love with another man, someone she has believed herself in love with since she was a child.  However, Dmitri stipulates that she must come to Greece (because he’s a hot Greek!) for a week to meet his grandfather so he can approve of the divorce.  Cue the shenanigans, tomfoolery and miscommunication.

While this book kept my interest, mostly because of the nonstop sex – which was awesomely kinky if not a bit unrealistic in parts--, there were definitely some things about it that left me scratching my head. This book reminded me a porno movie; not deep in plot development or character development, but big on action. I think the author could have dug a bit deeper into the back stories of the characters.  You get some on Lindsay, but not really on Dmitri.  And what you do get with Lindsay seems a bit forced and just thrown in.   Plus, it’s one of those books that doesn’t have its resolution until the last 2 pages.  It’s like a sudden drop from a roller coaster, and I personally am not a big fan of that in a novel.
One thing that was a plus in this book is that the language is quite colorful.  Here are some examples:

“I ignored her like a choleric child, moody and ill tempered”.  I’ve never seen cholera used in a simile before…kudos.

“Claudine’s French webby cocoon”.  In reference to a vagina…that is some serious descriptive, and slightly off putting, language!

My favorite though, was that Lindsay nicknames Dmitri’s tongue “Torque”.  Two enthusiastic thumbs up!

I’m not trying to be Debbie Downer with this book.  The bottom line is that I enjoyed it for what it was, a very sexy, fluffy read.  I really like Dmitri; he’s got that sexy Alpha thing going on…not to mention he’s Greek.  Yes, please!  I think if you read this book you will, like me, find it hard to put down and at the end, be satisfied.  I give it a very stimulating 3 stars.
