You close your eyes and finally make the decision to end your life only to have him show up. Gabriel, here to give you a second chance for salvation. They say he’s an angel, but then again, they don’t have to serve under him. He offers you a chance to be a member of the Frozen, a group of demon hunters. Serve your sentence and you can ascend to heaven. Refuse, well the punishment has been clearly laid out in the scriptures. It’s a last chance. But when your body is frozen in time can your heart still beat?
Nye, a former slave who lost his love and was tired of being under the control of another ended his life in 1859. His stubborn ways kept him under Gabriel’s thumb and from ascending to Heaven. Feeling that a woman was the cause of his downfall he hasn’t had an urge for a woman for over a hundred and fifty years. Knowing that he has less than seven years left until he earns salvation he is staying on the straight and narrow – until a woman gets caught in the crossfire during a demon hunt.
Receiving devastating news, Kiriana moves across the country only to get caught up in the world of our protectors The Frozen. With each passing moment Nye and Kiriana are pulled into an attraction that could be their ultimate demise or their greatest salvation…
All the while Damarion, is leading a group of female demons as they try to protect the demons sent from Hell to obtain the souls of humans around the world. Being assigned to Earth as a punishment for crimes against the royal family, Damarion learns that there are dangers within his coven trying to take him down and stop him from returning to his love still trapped in Hell and threaten the love that he was so sure was true.

Tease for you :)
The rain started lightly, I thought Kiri would wake soon so I pulled back into the shadows. Instead, she seemed to nuzzle into her shoulder.
Kiri whimpered and I returned my gaze to her. She seemed upset, but then again because of me nightmares should be part of her life for a while now. I cursed myself for my part in that. Resigned in the realization Kiri belonged far away from me, I turned to go.
“Nye.”
I turned to see she was still in a deep sleep. And she was dreaming of me?
My heart fluttered. Could she really be dreaming about me? No, she must be having a nightmare. Her lips had curled into a smile
“Nye, please.”
Please. Please what? Whatever it was, I was willing to do it. She was pleading to me. How could I help her? How could I save her?
Then the ice came. My heart hardened seeing her tears. They ran from her eyes like rats from a ship. What had I done? What was she remembering? Suddenly the heavy rain arrived, dumping itself from the low hanging clouds and Kiri woke with a start. She didn’t rush for shelter. Instead, she rested her arms on her knees and buried her face in her hands.
“Why Goddamn it?” she screamed as she raised her head to the heavens. “Why can’t you even allow me a dream? Is it not bad enough you let me meet him and refuse to allow me even the slightest touch? Fine. You win. Leaving me in a dying body with only his memory to haunt me forever.
“Fuck. You,” she screamed with her middle fingers raised up to the air. “You are a vengeful God.”
What the heck was she talkin’ about?
“Your own son found forgiveness for Mary Magdalene, am I not as worthy?”
She continued her criticism of God. I was afraid Gabriel or some other angel would come down to the roof and smite her. Who was she talking about? The normal was so intimate with his touch, I couldn’t imagine stopping, but then again, I had turned down her request of one night.
“What do you want from me?” she screamed into the night air as the lightning and thunder started to roll together.
The sky became light as day as the nearby windows shook.
“Now you want to kill me. Why? So I have no chance of being with Nye.”
I stood up right as another bolt of lightning struck, and I saw Kiri’s eyes. She was staring straight at me. She didn’t jump in fear instead she shook her head and turned towards her apartment. With one hand firmly on doorknob, she punched the door once, and returned her gaze to the emptying clouds.
“That wasn’t even fair,” she said, her voice sounded defeated.
“Kiri,” I eked. “Kiri, wait.”
“Voices,” she growled. “Now you have me hearing voices.”
I leapt so I was standing right behind her and placed my hand on her shoulder.
“What is it you want, Kiri?”
“For you to be real.”
“I am real.”
Her wet, silken, skin goose bumped under my hand.
“You can’t be,” she said, still facing the door. “You said you’d never come back. That I’d never see you again. And here I am. Imagining your face, hearing your voice. Wishing your hand…was…”
“Wishing my hand was what?”
“Really there, that…I could taste…”
I spun her around and brought her lips to mine. As our mouths fused, her body went lax between my arms. Her fingers slid softly down my cheeks. When my tongue touched Kiri’s, a moan came from deep inside her. I held her right hand in mine and rose it above her head to lock her wrist against the wall. My body fell against her soft frame. I could feel myself harden, and God forgive me I rubbed the darn thing against Kiri. The light strokes had me returning her moan.
When our lips finally parted, she looked up at me and trembled. The rain streamed down her face. When the lightning flashed again, her eyes lit up as she looked at me.
“Don’t wake me,” she begged, pulling me to her again.

Review Time
One
thing that I enjoy about the paranormal genre is that it’s always
changing! If you have the idea to write
a book about anything not “normal” then you can do that in paranormal. You can create this complete world;
characters, places and it can end up being a great story.
That is
the case with this book. There are the
“normal” aspects to it, but there is also that paranormal twist as well. When you have The Frozen, something that could
actually be true, but can’t be proven, it adds to the story in a large
amount. The rest of the book has the
normal parts to it, it takes place in a regular world, where demons just happen
to reside.
One of
my complaints about this book is that in the beginning, the switching between
the different characters was very confusing.
Even during the later parts of the book, some of the times when the POV
would change, it would catch me off guard and I would have to re-read to
understand what was going on. Who was
saying what exactly.
Also,
it would have been nice to find out why the Frozen were created in the first
place. We found out why Nye became one
of the Frozen, but overall the reason why they were created, I didn’t
know. The ending of the book was also
confusing, but I did enjoy the twist that was thrown in there!
The
different characters were written in a way that you could understand each of
them. Yet it left more to wonder about
during the course of the story. I really
enjoy when not everything is given at once time, it helps to keep the story
running. Each of the characters had a
different, yet important, role in the course of the story. This story left a lot open for future books
in the series. It would be interesting
to learn about how the other couples met, and what will happen in their future.
Overall
I did enjoy reading this book; the different twist that was taken on the
paranormal world was very well done. I
enjoyed it very much and look forward to the rest of the series!
