Just when Velaney thinks she is safe again…her worst nightmare comes back to haunt her.
Eric is dealing with his own insecurities as he tries to accept Velaney’s decision to help the enemy…can he get past it? Will they be there for each other in the end?
He struggles to step aside and trust Velaney...but will his past keep him from doing so? Can he let go in order to move forward?
Velaney and Eric had their fair share of ups and downs in SPARK…they love was undeniable and intense. Just when you think they could get their happily ever after…pasts collide and merge together…will they fight for what they want?
Or will their love crash and burn?
For anyone who read and liked “Spark”, you have to read
“Burn”. Personally, any book containing
hot firemen is a must read for me. As
valued blog followers, I can only assume you feel the same way.
We met Velaney and Eric in “Spark”. He’s a hot fireman who rescued her from a
fire in her building. They had some
intense chemistry, and I was intrigued to read the continuation of their story. In this book, it picks up right where “Spark”
left off, with Velaney and Eric on a plane to go to his parent’s ranch. This book is truly the ups and downs of their
relationship. If you’re looking for an
angsty read where you feel some bitches need to get slapped around, then this
one is for you. Velaney is constantly
pushing the much too patient Eric away.
They both need to deal with their pasts in order to move forward with
each other. While Eric’s past is not as
tragic as Velaney’s, you do find out why he became a firefighter, which I found
very interesting. Also, I thought that I
what you find out about Velaney’s past in “Spark” was a doozie…just wait
until you read even more about it. Holy hell.
No wonder she’s so crazy.
Just as with “Spark”, I enjoyed the characters
in this book the most. You really
witness each go through a transformation in this story, which I found enjoyable
since I became invested in their story.
Sometimes, Velaney really got annoying for me, but she redeems herself
in the end, so I can overlook it. And
Eric, he’s just sweet and understanding and just…Eric. I think his nickname should be “Bearic”,
because the man is big, sexy, tough and loving teddy bear. The plot development
was great as well, since I had to keep reading in order to find out just what
happens. There’s just enough suspense
and angst to get you going. I enjoyed
it, and I think you will as well. 4
alarm fire (that means stars)!
