When I
read the blurb of this book, I was completely blown away and couldn’t wait to
read it! This was one of those books
though, the blurb was great but the story itself to me, didn’t really work out
well. Don’t get me wrong, the story was
still a good one, but it was extremely predictable while I was reading it.
I
haven’t read the other books in the series, but I do think that I might go back
and read them to find out more backstory from the other characters in the
story. I do NOT think that you have to
read the other books in order to understand completely what is happening in
this book. I think that the author did a
really good job giving enough backstory to Dex and Jesmina’s characters that
you could follow along quite well.
There
were some aspects of the story that I didn’t really like, it felt like there
was too much going on at certain times.
We were “introduced” to quite a few different people at the same time
and for me that made it harder to follow along trying to remember everything.
Overall
it was still an interesting read and I will read more from the author in the
future.
