Hawkeye One: Danger Zone by Sierra Cartwright

 "Who's watching you...?"
The highly specialized Hawkeye team protects the world's most valuable things, secrets, even people. But now one of their own needs protecting. There's a cool million dollar bounty on Dom Wolf Stone's head. Trouble is, Stone's a loner and doesn't want the help.
That doesn't stop his submissive and former lover, Nate Davidson, or another determined agent, Kayla Fagan, from showing up at his Colorado ranch, uninvited. The spark, the anger, the hurt is still there between Wolf and Nate, and their first kiss reignites the flames that time and distance have not diminished. With Nate's help, Wolf uncovers Kayla's unexplored submissive tendencies. Under the Dom's unyielding instruction, Kayla explores her sexuality in ways that make her dizzy.
For Wolf, there's nothing better than having two very different, very willing, very pleasing subs at his command. But Kayla and Nate both want more. In addition to his love, they want him to give up control long enough to share his life completely. And that's the one thing Wolf is incapable of giving.

The first book of Ms. Cartwright’s that I read was one that was in the Dom’s of Dark Haven anthologies and I just loved the story’s she created and wanted to read more of them. So I quickly got the Hawkeye series because I wanted to read more from her!
When I started this book I was very pleased about how it was progressing and how smooth of reading it was. But my complaint is that I believe I went into this book the wrong way. I was hoping for a read that was going to be packed with action and suspense, but this was more an erotica read to me personally. Don’t get me wrong, I do still enjoy erotica books, but I did feel a bit let down at the end of the story.
Even with feeling let down, I did still enjoy the story once I got into my “reading erotica” mode. I thought that Ms. Cartwright did a great job at creating three characters that were able to play off of each other’s personalities and temperaments very well. The combination of characters was done extremely well in my personal opinion; you have the woman who is curious about BDSM relationships, the submissive man who is wanting for nothing more than to please his master, and the master who is able to balance the needs of both submissive’s and his own at the same time.
The beginning of the book did leave me a little bit confused for the simple fact that it felt like we were dropped into the middle of a story and left wondering what was going on. Thankfully we were given a fair bit of information that gave us the backstory that we were looking for. There was still a bit of action in the story near the end which I did enjoy reading and following along with.
Overall, I do think that this is a really great smooth read. I did enjoy it and plan to read the next books in the series.
