Rougaroux Social Club Spotlight!

Sheriff Scott Dupree’s got more problems than he can handle. He’s alpha of his small werewolf pack and coming up for re-election as sheriff in a year. On top of this, his mother is casting love spells to find Scott a mate. It’s all Scott can do to keep the town and pack under control, let alone his urges to mate.

Ted Canedo is openly gay, a disgraced ex-cop from New Orleans. His patrol partner was killed on duty and Ted took the blame for taking protection money from the store owner to save his partner’s wife and kids grief. No one knew Ted was in love with his partner, not even his partner. Having him die in Ted’s arms killed something inside Ted too.

When the moon is full and Scott’s momma works her magic, Ted’s erotic dreams and his work as a PI bring him to St. Jerome and sexy, straight Scott. Scott’s stunned to learn his wolf is gay and wants to mate with Ted. Ted refuses to become involved with a straight man, much less a werewolf, terrified to risk his heart again.

Especially if it he has to watch Scott fight to the death for his right to claim Ted as his mate.

This is the first in a series of shifter books set in Southern LA. Lots of secondary characters but the main focus is Ted a gay human male, an ex-cop that was forced retired in shame when his partner was killed under a suspicious situation. He is now a PI, still living in New Orleans, still getting harassed by his fellow police. He has taken a PI job to follow the Judges wife, whom he believes is cheating on him. This is a weeklong case that will take him into heartland of LA, under the disguise of a painter taking an art class. While following the case, he meets up with Scott, an Alpha werewolf and Sheriff of the small town. Scott has always been a heterosexual male, but one look at Ted and his wolf know he has just found his mate. Can these two figure out there differences before the town falls apart?

I just loved all the characters; the woe is me, from Ted. This can’t be happening from Scott. The sassy, attitude from Scott’s mother, hell even the cat! The drama that strings you along (see I said drama, not angst) the quick one liners and silly stuff the over deputies are going through because of Scott and his issue’s. Can’t wait to jump right into book two

Peter Graham’s pack threw him out when they discovered he was gay. Ever since then, Peter’s been adrift. Denying his wolf and being the boy toy of a string of older men is all Peter knows. But when his lover brings another man to their bed, and that man abuses Peter, there’s nothing left for Peter but to run, all the way back to St. Jerome, a small town on the edge of the bayou, where he once painted. He meets Billy Boudreaux, a deputy and a werewolf, and discovers the town’s secret -- the Rougaroux wolf pack. They have a gay man as their alpha who is mated to a gay man. To Peter this looks like home, but he’s not the type of man either Billy or the pack would want.

Not everyone in the pack is happy about the inclusion of gay werewolves, and Peter joining the pack is seen by some as a threat. Can Billy keep his mate safe until he claims Peter in front of the pack?

Publisher's Note: This book contains explicit sexual situations, graphic language, and material that some readers may find objectionable: male/male sexual practices, sex in shifted form, violence (date rape, beating).

This is book two in the Rougaroux Social Club series. And since I read in order I would have to say you really need to do that, to really appreciate the story and characters. Since most all are repeat from book one.

This one is about Peter Graham, a gay man down on his luck. We meet him in book one taking the same class that Ted took. But against Ted’s advice Peter decided to follow the artiest, Darcy around on his tour, three months later he finds himself running away from Darcy after a very scary night. He remembers that he had Ted’s card in his wallet, with the words – if you ever need me. So with that Peter finds himself heading the New Orleans in reach of help and sanctuary. Once he gets there he finds out Ted now lives in that small town they took that painting class, St. Jerome. With no other options that’s where he heads.  Billy a gay wolf and a Deputy Sheriff in St. Jerome is in the station when Peter walks in. Takes one look at the battered and bruised man and knows he found his mate. But how will the rest of the pack react to two mated gay werewolf couples?

Oh gosh, poor Peter. If you could ever just reach in and hug a character and tell them just to believe this would be him. And Billy so shell shocked doesn’t know which way is up. Scott’s mother is up to her old tricks have everyone hoping and guessing who now is after Peter and why. Diving into book 3.
