Twins, Luc and Logan
Ramsey, are Doms. They run Club Mystique, the BDSM club they co-own with
their three brothers. They agreed to remain single until age
thirty-two. When they meet secretive Cassandra "Cassie" Edwards, Logan
decides she's the woman for them, but Luc decides she has too many
secrets and refuses to get involved with her. Cassie blames herself for
her father's death and has protected the people she loves by distancing
herself from them, until she meets Luc and Logan. Tempted by Logan, who
pursues her at every turn, and intrigued by Luc who wants her but keeps
his distance, Cassie has to decide if she can be their temporary sub
without endangering them. All bets are off when Luc and Logan discover
the secrets she's been keeping and decide to protect her from the men
who abused her and killed her father.
I have enjoyed the other books in this series immensely, and was
excited to read this one…but I have to admit I wasn’t so sure how I’d feel
about a ménage romance between two brothers and another woman. I mean, don’t they worry about their balls
accidentally touching or crossing swords?
I decided to persevere and read on, however. I’m glad I did.
Luc and Logan are twins and run an exclusive BDSM club on their
family’s ranch. They are Doms, but have
yet to find a woman they want to make theirs.
Enter Cassie, a woman with a mysterious past who is keeping a
secret. They are drawn to her, but Luc
is not so sure because she seems to be a bit flaky. He doesn’t like uncertainly, but Logan cannot
deny his attraction. He wants Cassie,
and has decided he will have her. When
secrets are revealed, will they survive in order to be able to have a happily
ever after?
First off, this book is super hot.
REALLY hot. Scorching. There are a lot of ménages on the market
right now, but this one is one of the better ones I have read. I got over the brother/brother/woman dynamic
pretty quick, which made me able to enjoy the story even more. Luc and Logan are so deliciously alpha and
dominating, you just can’t help but fall under their spell right along with
Cassie. I’m not sure that I really feel
like Cassie was a particularly special character. I mean, I liked her but found that I didn’t
feel a particular connection with her.
Nonetheless, I enjoyed her story and couldn’t wait to see where it led or
to find out what her secret was.
I thought this book was exceptionally well done. Interesting and sexy, it had a nice balance
of sexy time and plot. I have yet to be
disappointed by a book in this series.
My only wish is that it was a longer story, simply because I felt there
could have a little bit more build up between the characters and the past
explored in a bit more detail. As is, I
highly recommend it. 4.5 stars.
While I enjoyed Their Temporary Sub, I really wish I had reread books one and two
prior to starting it because I felt lost for far too long while reading it. I
love ménage books, so I’ve been looking forward to reading Luc and Logan’s
story. However, the speed with which the relationship between them and Cassie
developed felt accelerated. As it has been six months and at least 200 books
since I read Jackson’s Sub, I
attributed the “rushed” feeling to being out of the flow of the series.
That said, after finishing Their Temporary Sub, I went back and
reread Jackson’s Sub from where
Cassie first enters the book and there just weren’t enough interactions between
the three to balance it out. There seems to be a chunk of time missing despite
the fact that book three picks up at the scene on which book two ended. Both
Cassie and Luc’s emotions and wavering kept me dizzy for a large part of the
book and not always in a good way. Fortunately, Logan was the stable and
driving force that bonded them together – except for a singular incident, he
remained steadfast in moving forward with the ménage relationship with his twin
and Cassie.
As for that singular incident, it
was Thor’s reaction that baffled me most when he chose to believe the word of
someone he didn’t know over his goddaughter, whom he helped raise. Thank
goodness the Ramsey men aren’t drawn to weak-willed women and Cassie was able
to “prove” her innocence, getting everything back on track. And because love –
and hormones – conquer all, the three forged ahead with their relationship …
and lots of hot sex. While Their
Temporary Sub was not everything I hoped it would be, it was still an
enjoyable read and I’m looking forward to reading the next book in the series, Zane’s Choice.
I was born in Utah but I’ve
traveled throughout America and lived in sunny California, hot and dry west
Texas, and the mountains of Colorado. I wrote my first erotic romance in the
summer of 2013. It was accepted and published that same year. Since then I’ve
written three more books in the Doms of Club Mystique series. At this time I’m
busy writing the fifth and final book in the series. My heroes are tough
cowboys with military backgrounds and my heroines are strong, sassy and
submissive. I like my readers to laugh, and cry, so I put a lot of emotion in
my books as well as suspense and happy endings.
Other than writing, I
love to read, travel, garden, swim with my family, and go to the local drive-in
movie with a carload of friends and a huge container of home-made cheese
popcorn.
Sara and Angela, thank you for reading and reviewing Their Temporary Sub. I really appreciate that you both took the time to do that. :-)
