***This is the NA Version of Dark Dawn. The sexual content has been
toned done but is still explicit in nature and this book is not suitable
for the YA audience.***
In the beginning God made the heavens and the earth, and everything in between. The In-between was unplanned, unexpected, and unwelcome. Every action causes a reaction and when mankind was born, so were the Fae. Suddenly it was up to Heaven to save Earth. God created Angels to right his wrong, to save human kind. A deal was made, an agreement of sorts. The Angels would protect humanity from Fae domination and destruction, and in return they would have inhuman strength and immortality. Thus a time of angels swooping in to save humans from free will, bad decisions, and big mistakes began. They protected humans from the Fae who intentionally enslaved them, leaving shells of humans, or worse, leaving nothing at all.
Even God doesn’t always learn from mistakes. Angels were given freedom of choice. Some Angels chose wrong. When some of them spread their wings, they went too far, and just as Icharus was punished for getting too close to the sun, they were punished for getting too close to mankind.
So they fell. Falling was the easy part.

When I
first started reading this book, I had a few questions that I was hoping would
be answered during the course of this book.
However by the end of it, I had more questions than when I started and
was even confused about certain parts of the book. I am going to try to explain what my
complaints are about this book without giving away too many spoilers.
The
story line seemed amazing, and I couldn’t wait to start reading it. Right from the start, it had a way to grab
you in and make you want to read more.
From the start you meet Salathiel, who is the first and only angel at
the time. Then you are introduced to 5
other angels, and during that time Salathiel is given a new name of Seth. One of my issues is that during the course of
the book, both the names Salathiel and Seth are used, it goes back and forth
between the two of them.
Then
enter the other angels, who have different powers that God has given them. They are sent to Earth to help battle the Fae
who are taking over the world and putting all humans under glamor. The angels are supposed to protect the world,
but not kill any of the Fae. We don’t
really learn that much about the Fae, or what it is that they do. All we know that is that they use humans as a
form of food. But how exactly do they
eat? There is no information as to what
they do exactly to eat.
Out of
all the angels, only 1 of them has a job, and that is a job that is… well not
what you would expect from an angel let’s just say. The different powers that they each have, you
only hear about one of the angel’s and that’s when he has visions. You are just informed that he is having a lot
of them and he can’t function while he has them.
The
ending leaves you hanging because you aren’t really sure what has happened in
the last 15 pages of the book and you aren’t sure what is going to happen
next. Is there going to be another book?
Or is this a standalone?
I think
that this story has a great story line, like I said earlier, and I think that I
would have been able to give it a higher rating, but the way that it is written
now I can’t justify that to myself.
This book is currently $2.99 US Dollars on Amazon.
