Welcome to the World of Smart and Sexy -- Contemporary Romances with passion and heart.

Can the love of a good man bring you back to life? Dr. Liam Mason wants to try...

Madison Spencer is a focused medical student, concerned only with work and paying the bills. She hides her beauty and once passionate spirit behind a quiet plain Jane facade. Since she was drugged, stripped, and photographed by a vengeful ex, she has stayed away from men and kept her heart and body safe. But the loneliness is becoming more than she can bear.

When heart-stoppingly gorgeous Dr. Liam Mason walks into her world, she knows she's in trouble. The attraction is instant, but Madison expects her past to be a deal-breaker.

Instead, Liam offers to bring her back to life with passion and pleasure. No love, no commitment, just straight-up fun. Madison's sensible mind resists, but her body is willing. Together the young doctors explore days and nights of pleasure, slowly becoming much more than bedmates.

Deep inside, each wonders if they've found their perfect match. But their fears threaten to destroy the world they're building together.

Will they each be strong enough and brave enough to risk their hearts to have it all?

I have to admit that I have a soft spot for books like this, loves stories without kink about ordinary people.  Reading is an escape, and sometimes you just want to escape to someplace familiar and comfortable.
Madison has compartmentalized her life in such a way as to avoid romantic entanglements.  She’s a medical student and that has become her sole focus in life.  Wronged by an ex in an embarrassing and humiliating way, she finds it difficult to trust and even more difficult to let another man.  Enter Liam.  After a fateful meeting with some insta-attraction that ends with Maddie fleeing the scene, they must come to terms with their attraction to each other and how to deal with it.  They agree upon a no-strings-attached sexual relationship, but as they grow closer feelings become involved.  Will Maddie stop running?  Will Liam stop running too?  Find out in this heartfelt read!
First off, Maddie’s father can suck a toe.  I’m sorry, but Maddie had something awful, humiliating and hurtful happen to her at the hands of her ex (who is also a family friend) and her father simply didn’t believe her.  Maddie is so smart, sweet and down to earth, my heart hurt for her to be treated that way by her own father when she needed someone to be there for her the most.  Ugh.  I was really hoping something bad would happen to him, but it’s not that kind of book!
Ok, I feel better having gotten that out.  Anyway…the characters in this story are great.  It has just enough angst in it to keep you reading, but not enough that you want to throw your kindle across the room.  There are a few “WTF” moments, but on the whole it’s a lovely, character-driven story.  It’s easy to fall for Liam and want him and Maddie to work out their issues so they can be together.  Plus, their chemistry both in and out of the bedroom is written so well that you can’t help but get wrapped up in their story.
Overall, this book left a few loose ends for me (Owen – hello!!) but it was a great read that I really enjoyed.  4 stars.

I love this story; it is so intimate, passionate and full of heart break and love it was easy to fall in love with Liam and Madison.  Both in the medical profession, Maddie is in her residency and going on lack of sleep, healthy food, and personal time.  She is fully possessed with an event from her past that left her shattered and scared of all men.
During her first days at the hospital she sees Liam and realizes that she hasn’t had those tingles for any other man in a long time.  He comes at her with confidence and it confuses her.  There isn’t just Liam that notices Maddie and wants a piece of her, the evil man who could make or break her medical career.
Maddie slowly gives a piece of herself to Liam and then we hit a bump in the road that could shatter what they have built but more importantly shatter her heart into so many pieces, she will never get it back together.  Maddie isn’t a weak woman, she finds her chance to save another young woman and she takes it, with that she also saves herself from the doubt and pain she lived with.
When she is confronted with what she thought was a sure thing, she was surprised to see how negative she views others and life and decides that maybe she could be wrong about a lot more in her world.  The author gave us characters that were so easy to fall in love with and cheer them on.  I found myself emotionally invested in this story, especially when we found out what had destroyed Maddie’s world and how alone in life she really was.  So many times we see characters say they are alone but that is by their choice, with Maddie, her world was taken from her due to lies and selfishness and she still picked up the pieces and went back to life.
Make sure you get this book and sit back and enjoy the strength of Maddie and Liam, they are a couple I don’t think you will forget any time soon.

“I'm not saying no for sure. I just don't know how it will go. I need to try and see...”
“You need to have control and you need to be with someone who will stop exactly when you need him to?”
I was flooded with relief. “Yes! Yes!” I was so excited that he understood.
“Okay,” he leaned back. “You start.”
At first it seemed ridiculous and I just stood there. But after a few seconds I felt the draw to him was unstoppable. Beside the kitchen was a small living room, and I pulled Liam toward the sofa. We sat down beside each other. He put his hands to his sides and looked straight ahead. “Okay,” he said. “Try to seduce me. But be warned. I'm slow to warm up.”
We both looked at the growing bulge in his pants and laughed. He put his arm around me, leaned over and waited. I moved my face towards his until our lips nearly touched. I pulled back a bit then leaned in again. Finally, I put my hands about his face and our lips touched gently. He groaned, a sexy desperate noise that made me feel wanted and powerful. Soon we were kissing with our whole bodies. The angle was awkward so I moved to straddle him. I was so swollen and wet that as we kissed my hips started moving on their own. His hips rose to meet mine. I was rapidly losing control.
I got off his lap and kneeled down in front of him. “You okay?” he asked, concerned.
“Yes, yes, I'm amazing. It's just, it's almost too much, you know? I want to just concentrate on you for a minute.” He leaned back and almost growled.
“Oh my god woman. This is a dream, it has to be.”
“So hands at your sides, and no touching.” He clenched his fists and pinned them to his sides.
I was suddenly unsure of what to do. I was 25, but I had never really explored a man's body. Not without him instantly being inside me and the whole thing being over before I knew what had happened. Now suddenly the most delicious specimen I had ever seen was in front of me and I could do whatever I wanted. And I could stop if I needed to.
I spread his knees apart and moved between them. I looked nervously at the door. “I'm worried someone's going to barge in.”
He laughed, and it sounded a little bitter. “My parents aren't home. They're never home. And I'm the only one with the key, anyway. But let's go over here.“ He pulled me towards the far end of the room. Hidden behind a wall was a modern and masculine platform bed. He sat down on it and tried to pull me down beside him.
“No,” I smiled. I stood in front of him. He's a tall man, six feet at least, and I'm about five feet six inches, so as I stood in front of him, my mouth was at the top of his head. I kissed him there. He smelled amazing. I kissed the sides of his face and his mouth. I started to undo his shirt, and he groaned again. He leaned back, closing his eyes. I unbuttoned him all the way then pushed the shirt off his muscular shoulders. I wanted to take a lot of time, to kiss him everywhere, but there was an urgency that drew me downwards.
