Mangled Hearts, By Felicia Tatum

Francesca and Cade

Can two loves find their way back to each other despite an addiction and a hardened heart? Will their love overcome it all?

Francesca Taymon is young, successful, and broken. A tragic accident years ago haunts her to this day, and she blames only one person--the one that holds her heart. When she finally gets her first case, will she be able to handle seeing him again? Can she do her job and keep her heart intact?

Cade Kelling doesn’t take life seriously. He’s reckless and irresponsible, drinking all his problems away. When his parents bail him out for the last time, will he be able to handle seeing Francesca after all of these years? Will he be able to tell her what really happened that night 5 years ago or will he lose her forever?

And the most important question….

Can these mangled hearts be mended?

Review Time!

Crystal's Review:

Have you ever read a book that the blurb of it was just amazing, but you felt let down with the way the story was told?  That happened with me and this book.  There were some parts of it that were just amazingly well done, but other parts that I felt were lacking completely.

I really really liked the fact that Francesca had a complete grudge against Cade.  And it’s not even for one of those “Oh you took this girl out instead of me” deals, she had a reason to be mad at him!!  I thought that her character was very well written on many levels.  She showed strength when she needed too, but she was also able to show compassion when needed.

Cade was well written as well, he was a complete playboy that only cared about himself.  He is rich and spoiled so you can get why he is that way.  He doesn’t take responsibility for any of his actions, until it’s too late.

So what could I not like about this book with how great the characters were written?  It was the story line itself.  I felt like it was lacking in a lot of areas, because you could tell what was going to happen with each chapter that came.  I wish that there had been more added that could have made this story stand out, but sadly there isn’t anything that did that.

All in all, I would rate this book 3.5 paws because of the way the characters were written, and with the potential of this story.
