Gentling The Cowboy Tour Stop!

Gentling the Cowboy Blog Tour Banner
Synopsis
Tony Carlton knows trouble when he sees it—especially when it comes in the form of a gorgeous, innocent and very naked blond stranger dancing in his shower. When circumstances force his uninvited guest to spend the night, Tony decides that there are some home invasions he could get used to.
Sarah Dery is a frustrated writer who takes her twenty-fifth birthday as a wake-up call. She sets off for Texas thinking that a summer on a working ranch will finally inspire her. When one wrong turn leads her into the arms of a hot, broody cowboy, she’ll discover her spicy inner voice. But is it enough? He says he’s not capable of love. Can she gentle this cowboy?

Sarah is driving to her friend's ranch in Texas to find herself and hopefully find her words to write.  She wants to be an author but is stifled at home.  She finds what she thinks is her friends home and lets herself in and takes a shower, only to be confronted by Tony, the homeowner.  She finds she is at the wrong ranch.  She calls her friend Lucy, only to be told she can't come stay with her.  For some reason, Tony decides he wants her to stay.... and Tony pushes everyone away.  Tony is a jerk for the better part of the book and most of me wished Sarah would just leave him.  However, she saw the man inside and stuck with it.  With Sarah's help, Tony learns to care for the people around him.  He makes great strides.. but to me I'm not sure it was enough.

The book is well written, and the characters are fully developed for the most part.  Where Tony came into all his money is never really explained, yet the fact that he is rich is referred to repeatedly.  You care about them and about what happens to them.  Sarah's inner dialogue annoyed me most of the time.  I wish she would have just said what she was thinking.  Putting it in italics and expecting the reader to figure out that it was what she was thinking got on my nerves more than once.

Other than that, I really enjoyed the book and look forward to reading the rest of the series.
