I’m all for a book that not only includes a hot Alpha Marine
(droooool) but also has up against the wall sex in the first chapter. Oh yes, my friends, it opens with a bang…pun
very intended. I know that’s probably
overused, but I just couldn’t help myself.
Anyway…
Melissa is at a resort on business when she meets Derek,
aforementioned grade-A sex God. They
embark on what they think is a one night stand, but ends up being a week long
affair that is more than either bargained for.
Will secrets of the past doom this passionate love affair before it has
a chance to begin?
First, I have to say, the chemistry between Melissa and
Derek is OFF THE CHARTS. I usually
prefer a little more sexual build up in my books, but from the get-go these two
are just too hot for each other to deny themselves or the reader, so I’m all
for it! It’s a pretty short read, so it
had to get to the point in order to fit in all the steamy horizontal and
vertical sex in this novel. You know me
well enough by now to know that all that sex is a sure way into my perverted
little heart.
Aside from the steamy hot beef injections, this book is
actually not predictable as you may assume.
I mean, there were a few things I called from the get-go, but there were
several major plot points that I did not see coming and I have to give props
for that. I read so many books that are
so formulaic, even if I enjoy them, they’re not original. This book had some very original factors that
added to my overall enjoyment of it. It had a great characters and a great plot
that hooked you from the beginning. And
did I mention all that hot four legged frolicking?
Sara! Your review is hilarious, and I love it. Thanks so much--glad you enjoyed ONE TO HOLD! :) <3 Tia
