I like this new trend of stories told from the male point of view.  It’s refreshing and new, and I can’t seem to get enough of it.  Throw in the fact that the narrator in this tale is a male escort to the rich and famous, and you’ve got one interesting read.

Liam Cooper (“Coop”) is a male escort.  He gave up his dreams of becoming a doctor early on when his heart was broken by a woman and his mother became ill.  He needed a way to make money fast and fell into the escort business.  He uses the money to help his family pay for his mother’s treatment, which is really expensive.  He keeps his heart locked away and just enjoys the physical aspect of this job…until he meets Mia.  She makes him feel things that he never has, but she thinks that he sells insurance.  He’s trapped by his own lies, because he can’t give up his job and stop paying for his mother’s treatment, but he’s met a woman he feels could be the one and is building a relationship built on a lie.  Will he come clean?  Will they be able to move forward, together?

First of all, since this is a story about an escort there is plenty of sex to fulfill my erotic novel quota.  Two thumbs up!  What I really didn’t expect was for this to be a tale about a man-ho with a heart of gold.  Coop is really a great guy.  He just kind of fell into his lifestyle, but he respects women and their choices, and he’s good at what he does.  He takes pride in his work, let’s just say that. 

While I enjoyed the story being told from his POV, it left me feeling a little unsure about the other characters motivations and thoughts, so I don’t feel that I got very deep with them.  I would have liked to, because I enjoyed this story a lot.  That’s my one complaint, that the supporting characters felt a little one-dimensional to me and that detracted from my enjoyment of the story.

Overall, this was an enjoyable read, and a definite walk on the sexual depravity wild side.  Can’t go wrong there.  I really look forward to the next book in this series. 4 stars.
