Be a Ghost!
For a long time, I have thought about what kind of paranormal creature I would like to be if I had the chance. A vampire sounded like something everyone would want to be but I didn’t like the idea of drinking blood or being undead. I didn’t want to be hairy like a werewolf and have to deal with the full moon. I wasn’t sure if I wanted to be a zombie because eating brains wasn’t my thing. While I was fascinated with demons, I don’t think I would have wanted to be one. So I’ve thought about it for a while and decided that I would like to be a ghost.
Now why would I pick something like that? Ghosts are interesting in their own way. They are dead yet still somewhat alive. Somehow, there are ghosts that can think and feel as if they were alive. They can go from place to place, checking up on those they love, without ever being spotted. They watch the world go by without worrying about getting older or running out of time. There are a few that, if they died in a mysterious way, try to figure out how it happened. I think I’ve watched the movie Ghost far too many times but I imagine that’s more or less what a ghost would end up doing. I would like to be able to scare people at times, learn how to touch something, and reconnect with those I love through any means. It would also be nice to learn to connect with other ghosts and see what they have to say. Maybe I would be able to learn the truth about their deaths while learning more about myself.
But the biggest reason why I picked a ghost is that no one really ever talks about them. They are shrouded in mystery and we’re not sure if they really exist. The photos and stories aren’t enough. Very rarely do I get to see a story where a ghost falls in love with someone. They do exist but tend to get lost with the craze of vampires, werewolves, witches, etc. It would be nice to explore them a little more so I think I would like to be one for a day. Disappear and watch people from a distance. Maybe I might end finding out more about myself in a situation like that.
When a member of the family decides he's had enough of the same old routine they've been doing for years, Dante springs a surprise on the family and the audience by announcing he's giving them a brand new theme. As the show becomes attractive, unlike anything anyone has ever seen before, Dante goes missing, and the Gallati Family Circus turns into a mysterious, crime. Knowing very little about the world outside of the big top, the performers search for Dante, and with each clue he leaves them, they learn he has secrets, and their lives inside his death defying nightmare turns into a heartless and painful way to live. But the audience needs it. They can't live without it. Together, they realize, the show must go on.
