In Beautiful Addictions
by Season Vining, Josie Banks is a girl without a past. After being
found unconscious with no memory, she was shuffled in and out of foster
homes where she suffered years of abuse. An experience that left her
broken, damaged, and clinging to drugs and meaningless hook-ups to numb
her pain.
When Josie disappeared years ago, she took a piece of Tristan with her. She’s the girl he thought he lost forever—the one he’s never been able to forget. Now a twist of fate has brought them back together, and he never wants to let her out of his inked arms again. But Tristan is haunted by a dark past of his own. On the run from ruthless criminals that shattered Josie’s world years ago, reentering her life puts them both in danger.
As Josie and Tristan’s lives become tangled once again, they find themselves unwilling and unable to escape the relentless pull that draws them together. But will the past leave their love in ruins—or bind them together for a lifetime?

I picked up this book because of its
beautiful cover and it's raw gritty synopsis that I thought would be a great
read. Something different than normal love stories. The beginning was super
good, sucked me in and I just had to know more about Josie and why she was the
way she was. There were a few lines that made me laugh, like the bartenders
calling her Bundy because she sat quietly in the corner of the bar drawing and
not socializing with anyone. Josie wasn't there to socialize though; she was
there to watch the bartender. There was just something about him that she
couldn't let go. She didn't talk to him or approach him, just wanted to watch
him.
After they finally meet and we start
to find out about her past (which I can't tell you about because it's a SECRET
you'll have to find out when you read it) it had some rollercoaster moments.
Through the ups and down we find out more and more about Josie. You get to
watch as she is drawn closer to Tristan while they rediscover each other.
I
couldn't give it 5 stars because it just seemed to be missing something for me.
The story seemed to really lag in parts while others were riveting. Overall I
think some will love and some will hate but a great read for me.
