If you have not read The One Left Behind, this synopsis will be a spoiler to that book.
Addison's life was shattered a year ago when she was left with no memory of her fiancรฉ. When Pierce entered her life she thought she was on the mend until her memories of Colin came back.
With having all her old memories flooding back, Addison is left faced with the consequences of the decision she made to move on with another man.
Now faced with loving two men Addison must find it in her heart who her soul mate is without breaking the heart of the other.
Will Addison run away leaving everyone with shattered lives or make a decision that will mend hearts?
I just finished Shattered Lives
Mended Hearts and I really liked it. If you have read the series then you
know this is the second one while the first one is The One Left Behind.
Addison Pierce and Colin and all in turmoil. Addison was engaged to Colin
when they were in a car accident. She lost her short term memory and
didn't remember who Colin was, as she was trying to regain her memory she meets
Pierce. What turns out as an innocent friendship develops into love
between them. She doesn't regain her memory until she is walking down the
aisle to meet Pierce to get married. That is how the 1st book ends.
She remembers. Now we have this book which is going through their lives
while she tries to make a decision. Who will she choose, Pierce or Colin?
I can tell you that it was a hard decision but you will have to read and see
who she chooses...
I really liked the story and I
thought that it flowed really well. I loved how it was in in Addison,
Pierce and Colin's point of view. You really got to see how they were all
feeling and why they made the decisions that they made. For Addison, it really
is a hard decision. Once the memories return, her feelings for Pierce
remain the same. She definitely had a hard decision. I was on the fence,
I loved both of them and I had no idea who she was going to choose.
Once things started to change I knew who it was going to be. Did it take
away from the story, no it did not. I still enjoyed it.
I loved all the secondary characters
and love how the author set up the next ones. I saw it coming but can’t
wait to see how it turns out.
I loved how her friends were giving
good advice and was glad that they were there to keep their heads on straight
while Addison had to decide what to do.
This story will take our on an
emotional ride but like Addison. Who would you chose? Might not be
as easy as you think...
She doesn’t mutter a word, she simply nods and
that’s all the acknowledgment I need. Still cupping her jaw, I lean in and kiss
her ever so softly, peppering her with small, slow kisses all over her mouth. I
pull back for a fraction of a second to gauge her reaction and her eyes are
still closed and she has a fistful of my shirt clenched in one hand. I snake
one arm around the back of her waist and the other holding the back of her neck
as I draw her close to me again, aligning our bodies perfectly against each
other. Hearing her slight gasp spurs me on as I seal my lips over hers again.
This time I’m not giving her soft pecks, and when she opens her mouth the
tiniest bit, I take my tongue and run it along the inside of her lips. When her
tongue reaches out to touch mine, I’m lost. I pour every ounce of passion,
love, and devotion into this one kiss. I kiss her like my life depends on it.
When I pull back, we are both breathless and there’s a fire in her eyes that
I’ve missed seeing. I know exactly what her eyes are telling me, but
unfortunately we can’t take it to that level tonight.
