Blindfolded Innocence by Alessandra Torre

"I'm not sure what you have been told about me, but I'm not nearly as bad as they make me out to be." His deliciously deep voice carried a little bit of ego.

I'm sure you are exactly as bad as they make you out to be….

Brad De Luca is used to getting whatever and whomever he wants. The premier divorce attorney in town, he's a playboy who's bedded half the city—including his own clients. And when the newest intern at his firm poses a challenge, his seductive prowess goes into overdrive.

Pre-law student Julia Campbell is fresh off a failed engagement and happy with her new independence. Even if she weren't warned away from Brad at every turn, she'd know he was bad news. The last thing she needs is a man who could destroy her job prospects, not to mention her innocence. But before she knows it, the incorrigible charmer has her under his spell. His deviant tastes plunge her deep into a forbidden world of sexual exploration…but her heart may not survive the fall.

If you go into this series thinking it is going to be another Fifty Shades you will be sadly mistaken.  Brad and Julia have a unique relationship and personality that takes us on a confusing ride.  I would have given this five stars but the one thing that kept me from it was Julia confused me from the beginning.
Starting as an intern at a law firm she was assigned the attorney who never believed in only putting in 8 hours.  He was an all work no play kind of man and he expected the same from his staff.  Just down the hall on the other wing was Brad’s unit.  They believe in partying at any little thing.  Someone showed up for work on time was cause to celebrate.  Brad being the alpha sexy male divorce lawyer had any woman he wanted.  There were women who would delay their divorce just to be able to have him as their lawyer.
Julia was warned to stay away from Brad by many people; Brad was warned if he slept with another intern he would be in serious trouble.  So you can guess she didn’t stay away and he didn’t follow his orders either.  After taking a weekend trip their mission was to never let anyone in the office know they were together, but of course they will sneak around in the limited free time she had and he will introduce her to his lifestyle.
The confusing part for me was Julia never really acted all innocent and shy, but she made it known she wasn’t into the playboy games that Brad was known for, yet it didn’t take much convincing to get her in his bad and away for the weekend.  As for the rest of the story I think it was pretty clear emotions were leading both characters and they took us on an exciting ride for a while.  This book ended on a positive note, but that usually means they are in for a rocky journey in the next book.   Keep checking the blog as I will be reading book two and posting a review for it as well.
