The Entity Within by Cat Devon

Is Love Something…

Zoe Adams and her grandmother Irma are witches who have been banished from Boston. With nowhere to go, they accept an invitation to come to Chicago…but what they don’t realize is that their new space puts them right in the heart of the most dangerous spot of all: Vamptown.

You Can Sink Your Teeth Into?

Damon Thornheart is just that—virtually untouchable when it comes to love. As Vamptown’s highest-ranking demon hunter, he sees red flags when he meets Zoe and Irma, who unwittingly unleashed a brutal evil upon the community. But the more Damon gets to know the stunning, spirited Zoe, the less he understands about his own true nature. Vamps and witches have always been archrivals in the entity world; surrendering to their passion could mean losing their immortal powers. Is their desire worth the risk? Only one thing is for certain: in Entity Within, Damon will make it his mission to find out…

I have to say, I do love Cat Devon’s stories.  That is for sure, her twist on vampires, is just amazing and she is the first one that I have read that has this “twist”. While I was worried that since I loved her first book so much, that the sequel would not be completely up to the same level, I was excited when I finished this book and still loved it.
The characters in this book were written to a very great level, they all had their own personalities which were great to read about them.  I really did enjoy how Daniella and Nick were still part of this story.  But they didn’t have a huge part that over took the whole story.
I think that Zoe’s character was written just right; she has the right balance of sarcasm and strength that keeps her going during the course of this book.  I do think that my favorite character out the book though would have been her Grandmother, because she was off the walls hilarious at times!  Damon’s character was just amazing.  Holy crapsauce, he was great.  You could tell that he has his dark past and he is trying to sort through that all, and Zoe just keeps bringing his past up.
The suspense in this book was done very well.  I couldn’t put the book down once I started it because I wanted to find out what happens next in the story.  My only complaint about the book is there were a couple spots that were repeated.  Usually that isn’t a problem for me, except with this, it was a couple paragraphs that were repeated over.
All in all, I think this was another great book done by Cat, and I can’t wait to read more from her in the future!
