I really liked the first book in this series and couldn’t wait to dig into this next installment.  I’m happy to report it was just as good as the first!
Lily receives news that her father has suffered a stroke and must get back in order to take over the helm of the company as acting CEO.  So, now Lily must deal with reconciling being back in NYC and her old life with the changes that she went through with Gustavo in Rio.
Lily just continues to grow in this book, and I enjoyed reading about as much as in the first.  It is a steamy, short read in which we have Lily back on her home turf but finding that she’s a lot different than she was before she left.  We’re let in on a bit more of the plot of her sister’s betrayal and what it would have meant to Lily if she’d married Jack.  We also learn some more about Gustavo in this book, which was a welcome addition.
For such a short read, this book still manages to be extremely hot.  I was not disappointed in the sex department!  But what I find I have liked best about these books is the way in which we witness the main character finding herself, both in the bedroom and outside of it.  Lily as a character is really interesting to me, and I find that even with some of her quirks I find it very easy to relate to her and the changes she’s going through.  Overall, I really liked this book.  My only wish is that it was longer…or that all three books were just released as one!  4 stars.
Having spent most of the last two decades abroad, Vivian Winslow currently resides in New York City with her husband and two grade school-aged children. Her stories are heavily influenced by her ex-pat experiences. The Gilded Flower Series is her first foray into erotic romance.
