Once again I ask why we are limited to five stars. Why
can’t we have a million stars for books such as Cadence? I talked my
friend into reading Façade and she loved it. She is dying to get her
hands on Cadence now but since I received an ARC I took it upon myself to
torment her while I read. What started out as little messages of OMG you
won’t believe this soon turned into “OMG I can’t watch this. Hold my
hand.” Needless to say she was not happy with me but now is dying a bit
more to get her hands on this book. I was already a fan of these two
authors, now I think they have gone on my list of authors I worship.
Ker Dukey and D.H. Sidebottom, took dark and twisted to an
epic level in this book. Lies are exposed and the truth is even harder to
handle. Evil runs wild in Dante’s mind and he has no hesitance with
acting upon those tormented thoughts. Faye proves she is more than an
artist and star, she is a woman, with desires and determination to find
justice, even if it is on the same level of deviance as Dante. She fights
fire with fire so to say. We get to know Cade more in this book and he is
a dream but don’t mistake his sexy man appearance for someone who is
weak. Oh no, he might not push his alpha personality often but when he does
watch out.
I am not going to get into the actual story here because
there is no way to put it without giving spoilers but let me tell you, not only
does the authors manipulate the minds of the characters, they twist the readers
minds as well. I usually can sit down and write my review moments after
finishing a book, but this time I had to wait a day just to get the heart rate
down and the mind cleared. Reading this book was like going through a
haunted house. You find your bearings, walk a few steps and think you have
it under control and a new monster jumps out in front of you and scares you to
death. No character in this book was safe from the evil that Dante
casted.
The authors will have you gasping for air, wanting to close
your eyes but you can’t and a heart rate increase that clearly can’t be good
for your health, but all of that is so worth it once you are done. I love
my dark and twisted books, but this one tops it as far as wiping me out when I
was done. I had such a book hanger after I finished I couldn’t even
contemplate picking up my kindle for the rest of the day. I am sad to see
that Faye, Dante and Cade’s story has ended, maybe they will pick up and take
us to a new level with them but I doubt it. I am so thankful for the epic
ride they gave us. If you love the darkest of the dark and the mind
manipulation that is tormenting, you MUST read this series.
I have always had a passion for storytelling, whether it be through lyrics or bed time stories with my sisters. I wanted to be an actress growing up so I could live many roles but I learned early on that my mind was too active... I would want to change the script.I would watch films and think of ways they could of improved the story if they took another direction so i thought it best that i tell my own.
My mum would always have a book in her hand when I was young and passed on her love for reading, inspiring me to venture into writing my own. I tend to have a darker edge to my writing. Not all love stories are made from light, some are created in darkness but are just as powerful and worth telling.
When I'm not lost in the world of characters I love spending time with my family. I'm a mum and that comes first in my life but when I do get down time I love attending music concerts or reading events with my younger sister.
