For some reason I just could not get into
this book. There was enough action and
suspense to normally keep me interested, but I just could not connect with the
characters for some reason. Many of the
interactions between the two main characters seemed awkward or forced to
me. I think the author wanted the
characters to have a simmering romance that sparks when they meet for the first
time in person, but it just kind of got lost in all of the action for me.
The ending gave some insight into Max’s
character and was sweet but I still was not as thoroughly invested as I would
have liked to be. The character we are
introduced to in the end M.J. was very interesting and I think it would be fun
to read her story as she adjusts to her new life and responsibilities. Overall it was an interesting book and one
that others may enjoy it just wasn’t for me.
