Never Let Go Tour Stop!

Is it possible to find your soul mate on the other side of the world?

Beth Johnson is an ambitious high school senior from suburban California with a secret passion for writing. David Somers is a charming young Englishman who wants nothing more than to play guitar in his up-and-coming rock band. Though worlds apart, when fate brings Beth and David together in London in the summer of 1979, sparks fly. After Beth receives upsetting news from home, she finds herself drawn to David’s warm character, and an all-consuming love develops. Theirs is the kind of love one never forgets, and as Beth’s stay in London nears the end, the young devoted couple must face the inevitable question: will their romance fade with the passing of summer or will they realize their promise of never letting go?

This is the first installment of a four-book series, Faithfully Yours, chronicling Beth and David's romantic journey.

Beth is a typical American teenager.  She is less than pleased when her parents let her know that she will be carted off to London to visit relatives for the summer, mostly because it will separate her from her boyfriend Rick, who she fears will stray while she is gone.  But once in London, she meets David, and soon she finds herself conflicted by her loyalty to Rick and her blossoming, if not confusing, feelings for David.  Will Beth explore what could be between her and David?  Can Rick remain faithful while Beth is away?
This is the first part of a planned series and I have to say, I quite enjoyed it.  It was a departure from my normal erotic tastes, and I think once in a while you need to read a true romance in order to cleanse your pallet.  I really liked the characters and even though they’re young, you really feel as if you are being taken on a journey.  This book really awakened my nostalgic side and played into the feelings I remember from being a 17 year old girl with my whole life ahead of me.  Beth’s journey is truly a universal story and I enjoyed it.
I have to say, I’m also a sucker for stories told in London.  London, to me, is a very old and romantic city, and loved reading about Beth’s journey there and what she discovered about herself while abroad. It’s just a great setting for a coming of age story.
Now for whom Beth should be with, I’ll let you make your own mind up about it.  Let’s just say that this is one of those books where you will have an opinion and you will have a favorite…so be prepared to don your Team Rick or Team David shirts, people!
Overall, I enjoyed this book and look forward to the next installment. 4 stars.
Anne Carol grew up reading, writing, and listening to English rock bands, obsessing over one in particular. Continuing her fascination with rock stars, she married a bass player and they now have two sons, also budding musicians. Besides reading, writing, and music, she also loves traveling, going to dance class, watching teen dramas, and exploring social media websites. Anne lives in Northern California, where she enjoys wine and chocolate every night as she works on her next novel.
