Georgie

I lie to survive.

Have since I was sixteen and my world fell into chaos. But I found a way to endure, or rather it found me. Now I’m a prisoner of my own doing, hiding behind a false mask so no one sees the truth. Not even the man I want but can’t have—Deck. But I messed up and the lies are spilling over, out of control.

Deck is unrelenting and will settle for nothing less than the truth. He demands everything from me—EVERYTHING—even if it rips me apart.

DECK

I kill for a living.

Unyielding—It’s how I survive in my line of work. I bend people to my will…except Georgie.
But that ends now.
I've played her game for far too long. Now I think it's time we play mine.

You know you’re in for a roller coaster when a book opens with a dark and heartbreaking scene.  It kind of sets the tone for the rest of the book and my oh my…this is a dark one, peeps!
Georgie is a little bit wild.  She wasn’t always this way, but when her brother Connor is killed in action it turns her whole world upside down.  Now she drinks, and has had a series of one night stands.  Her brothers best friend, and long suffering crush Deck is the one looking after her now, and he’s not fond of what he’s seeing.  Georgie is hiding something, something big, and Deck wants to find out what that is.  Will he be able to?  Can he unlock the secrets of Georgie and claim her in the process?
First off, this book is HOT.  Georgie and Deck have some serious chemistry.  I loved the buildup between them; it made this book a real page turner for me.  Underlying the whole story is a big secret that Georgie is keeping to herself, and digging to the bottom of that is just as gripping as the sex!
This book is written very well, in my opinion. I seriously could not put it down.  The characters really come to life for the reader, and are interesting and mostly realistic.  My only issue was small.  It’s that Deck is supposed to be a trained ops guy, but Georgie is constantly able to elude him.  I rationalize this by thinking that it must be that Deck is blinded by his feelings for Georgie.  It makes him less effective in his grasp of the situation.  Other than that, I thought Deck was an awesome Alpha.  He was caring, yet domineering.   Yummy.
Overall, I really enjoyed this book.  I was happy to get Georgie and Deck’s story, and it was well worth the wait.  Interesting and gripping, this is one you should put on your TBR. 4 stars.
I don’t normally comment on coves, but sweet baby Jesus that man is hot. I have lusted after that man since the first time I saw one of his pics on Facebook and I had no problem envisioning him as Deck the entire time I read. Now that I have that out of the way, Perfect Chaos was a perfectly timed read for me. I enjoy a good romantic suspense, but Ms. Rose managed to ramp up the suspense to a level I hadn’t realized I was missing. This made for one seriously intense read that kept me guessing the entire time and truth be told, I’m still in the dark about several things but that’s the mark of a great romantic suspense series – it leaves you with more questions than answers so that you are compelled to read the next book.

The Prologue had me in tears. Having to witness Georgie’s emotional pain upon learning that her brother was dead was devastating. Unfortunately as the book unfolds we learn that that scene was just the beginning of her downward spiral and I found myself quickly sucked into her story. I devoured this book because I knew Georgie was hiding something, I could not figure out what it was and I just had to know. When her secret was finally revealed, that was not even on my radar. Just about the time I thought I had a handle on what was going on … BAM! another twist or another betrayal was revealed. What was not a surprise was the sexual intensity Georgie and Deck had. Although it took her ten years before she finally convinced Deck to ignore the promise he made to her brother, Georgie finally got her man … again and again and again … you get the idea. Even better than the scorching sex was the love they had for one another and how each was willing to sacrifice in order to protect the other.

Although the Unyielding series is a spin-off from the Ms. Rose’s Tear Asunder series, you do not have to have read the Tear Asunder books first. I haven’t read that entire series and while the characters make appearances in this book, they are friends of Georgie’s and not pivotal to the storyline. Perfect Chaos has the Unyielding series off to a great start and I’m looking forward to the next book in the series because I am dying to learn more about Kai.
Confession time, first I have already recommended this book to five people within two hours after finishing it.  Second confession, I haven’t been this excited for a series in a LONG time.  Wow, Perfect Chaos is, well PERFECT.  I almost feel like I am crushing on the author after reading about Deck and Georgie, who makes the most unbelievable, awesome couple because they are gritty, raw, stubborn, determined, opinionated, passionate trust me the list can go on and on.
Georgie grew up being the perfect daughter and sister.  Everything had a proper order and place and things were done by the rules.  There wasn’t any reason to step outside of the box because her brother Connor makes her world turn.  When he left for the military she was sad, but the knowledge that he was still with her mentally and thanks to technology available to talk to, she maintained her ordered life and waited for him to return.
Deck was Connor’s best friend and went to war with him.  Deck had a murky childhood, with secrets surrounding him that only Connor knew about and no family at all, he clung to what Connor and Georgie’s family offered him with a place to stay, family meals, and a safe place to fall if he ever needed it.  Tragically, Deck had to make a return visit to Georgie’s home alone.  He was there to tell the family that Connor had been killed in action.
Deck disappeared for two years after that day and when he returned he found a new Georgie.  No longer the organized and loving young girl, she was now a young woman who owned a coffee shop who got drunk every night and had sex with any man she wanted.  She never did commitments; it was always a one night sex circus.  Assuming that she is acting like this because of Connor dying Deck keeps a promise to his deceased best friend and starts tracking Georgie 24/7 to make sure she is safe.
Now this is where my inner reader is jumping up and down screaming tell them all of it BUT I won’t because there is NO WAY I will spoil this one for you guys.  Just remember not everything is as they seem, because you are about to go on a plot twist, roller coaster ride of the year.
Georgie is hilarious with her sarcasm but she is also such a well-developed character in this book, when you start to uncover the secrets she is hiding it will not only break your heart but it will send her at rapid speed to the top of the list for strong female leads.  Deck, OMG, yeah I hate using that term in reviews but seriously I have NO OTHER WORD………he is such a force of nature and so dang hot.  Oh Lord there were times he was demanding Georgie to tell him the truth, spill her guts, tell him what she is hiding and I was ready to talk.
This book isn’t only a romance, which really romance takes third place in the list of things you will experience; it is a mystery about a dangerous game that is being played.  The pawns won’t always make it and if they are called into the game, it will be torture.  It is also full of dramatic suspense.  The author makes you work hard to discover each piece of this puzzle, but that search was epic.
GET YOUR COPY NOW, she is going to release more regarding the other characters you will meet in Perfect Chaos and I will be tracking down the date for the next release and counting the hours.
