The Winemaker's Dinner: Appetizers, By Dr. Ivan Rusilko

 

 

Achieving one of her dreams of being a chef, Jaden has recently become the head chef for one of the hottest restaurants in Miami.  When her boss asked her to attend the Winemakers Dinner, she didn’t expect that one dinner to change her life.  Seeing a stranger who she couldn’t keep her eyes off of in the VIP section, she couldn’t have known what would be happening later in that evening.

                Dr. Ivan Rusilko certainly wasn’t expecting to have the reaction that he had when he saw Jaden at the Winemakers Dinner, but all he knew was he had to find out more about her.  All he knew was that he had to have her, and keep her to himself.  With using his connections, he helped to get her better known, but at what risk was that for?

                When it comes to the new power couple, will they be able to power through everything, or will they end up not having the power to face the future together?

                Writing romance and erotica is mainly a woman’s writing genre, but I have to give Dr. Ivan major credit for bringing a male’s perspective into the genre.  With his ability to write this series, from a male’s perspective and still be able to attract the female’s votes is an amazing skill to have.  There were certain times when you could really tell that this book was written by a male and not a female; he focuses on their careers more than the romance part of their relationship.

                With that in mind, I think that he did a good job balancing between the career, sex and romance parts of the book.  Now don’t get me wrong, the sex scenes in this book are to die for!  They are defiantly scorching hot and I think that having a male write these scenes does add a little something else to the story.

                My one complaint that I have about this book, is the fact that every time Ivan and Jaden would get together, be it for a date or even their first meeting, it always ended in sex.  In my opinion it made it seem as though they both just cared about sex, rather than having a relationship.  But that could also be the man’s aspect on things as well. 

                Overall I would give the book 4 stars because I do like the story line and the sex scenes are to die for.  I can’t wait to read the next book in the series to see what happens next between Ivan and Jaden.
