Fallen Crest Family, By Tijan

Samantha and Mason are together. Everyone knows it. Not everyone is dealing with it. While Mason’s ready to give them the middle finger, there’s one not going away. Her mother. Threats are issued. Ultimatums are given. Even blackmail is used, but only Samantha can put a stop to Analise. However, when a trauma from her past is triggered, she may not have the courage or strength to do what’s needed. If she doesn’t, Mason’s future could be destroyed.

My Review:

First off, IF YOU HAVEN’T READ FALLEN CREST HIGH, YOU SHOULD!

Ok now that I have that off my chest, let’s get to Fallen Crest Family.  In the first book of the series, FCH you meet the all the characters and you get a sort of understanding as to what is going on.  Samantha and Mason are “soon to be step siblings” her mom is marrying his dad.  But that doesn’t stop them from realizing that they want to be together.

Now this book is all about DRAMA.  I am not kidding you there, one bit.  While there was some drama in FCH, this one seems to go over the top insane.  Samantha’s mom, Analise, is psyco, and I say that with the nicest writing tone possible.  (Usually I would feel bad about calling a character psyco, but I think that Tijan realizes this because she is the one who wrote the book!)  With the parents trying to break up the young couple, the true colors of the characters come out to play.

Analise seems to have James blind to how she really is, but Mason and Logan can see right through her.  After having witnessed her in her “moments” they try to explain to their father how she really is.  With everything that is going on, Analise threatens Samantha with a choice that will not only ruin her life, but others around her.

I have a semi issue with James in this book, because in all honesty, with everything that is going on, how can he not see it?  Or is he the type that believes that he can help Analise even though she’s… crazy?  When it comes to Logan’s character, there wasn’t that much that was touched on with him.  He sort of seemed to fade into the background during the course of this book.

I was really excited to read this book, because I was hoping to find out more about Samantha, Mason and Logan, but the main character in this book was Analise.  She seemed to take the whole story and make it about herself; which I can see because that is her personality.  This book does leave you wanting more, well me at least.  I can’t wait to find out what happens in the next book in the series.

This book is currently $2.99 US Dollars on Amazon.

First book in the series:

Mason and Logan Kade are two brothers who did their own thing. They were rich and expected to attend her school, Fallen Crest Academy. They chose public school and now Samantha has to live with them. The problem is that she doesn't care at all: about them, about her friends, about her cheating boyfriend, or even about her parent's divorce. But maybe that's a good thing. Maybe change is a good thing.

This book contains adult/mature young adult situations.
