AR Von Spotlight!

So I have decided that since I have such amazing author friends that I am going to start doing an Author Spotlight for them!!!

Without further adooooooooooooo I bring you……………

AR Von
Author of the Wunder Series!!

So I had a chance to ask AR some questions earlier this week, and I figured that I would share the responses that she gave me :)  So here's some insight into her mind!!!

Let's get serious...

What made you want to become a writer?

I’ve always loved writing from when I was young; even just jotting down non sense that popped into my head or thoughts of my day (or a boy crush) in my journal(s). I wrote poems for my mother every chance I had. I don’t recall if they were all that great. I DO remember most of them based on the rhythm of “Roses are red…” lol

What genre of books do you like to read?
Do you limit yourself to only the genre that you write yourself?

I am an avid reader of many genres which include (but are not limited to) erotica, paranormal, mรฉnage, fantasy, YA, western (she has to have a hot cowboy, or two, here and there) and some historical.

How do you react to a bad review of one of your books?

It stings a little. But it’s an opinion and everyone is entitled to their own thoughts. I know not everyone will enjoy my writing. Just like not everyone would like any other authors. If everyone was pleased, I think it would be a bit boring. I like and appreciate the honesty :)

What advice do you have for someone who would like to become a published writer?

Go for it! It will seem impossible at points, but you HAVE to give it a shot if it’s something you really want to do, live the dream. Also, NEVER compare yourself to another; find your own voice because it will speak the loudest :)

Will you have a new book coming out soon?

Yes! I’m sending the next Wunder to my editor now. Hopefully you’ll see it no later than mid-June. I also have another short that’s going to be published in an anthology I wrote specifically for WOCA (Writing Out Child Abuse) that’ll be out some time this year. It’s nothing at all like Wunder, no paranormal elements or romance. It’s more of a ‘based on real life’ story, it’s very emotional…
***Wunder 0.5 is now released!!***

Randomness with Crystal and AR:

What would I find in your refrigerator right now?

Umm… White cranberry juice, other juices, ginger ale, (runs to look in fridge)milk, lettuce, tomatoes, wine, condiments, some left overs, bottled water,  spinach, bacon, sour cream, yogurt,  coffee mate (Italian sweet cream), jars of peppers, pickles, baby carrots, margarine, butter, eggs, cheese, frosted brownies (made them from scratch),  sandwich meats,  chocolate (it’s hot now. Can’t let that precious treasure melt!)

If you could be a superhero, what would you want your superpowers to be?

I’d just want to fly. That way I can travel to wherever I’d like to and pretend to be a dragon :)

Have you ever gone out in public with your shirt on backwards, or your slippers on, and when realizing it, just said screw it?

I’ve only done something like that once and it was because of an emergency. So I honestly could care less what anyone thought.

Do you get road rage? What pisses you off the most about other drivers?
I do not drive much. But when I do I do not get the rage of the road. I DO get pissed off when someone rides my ass though. I’ve actually been tempted to tap the brakes a time or two. But that just would not be right.

What is one question that you are never asked in interviews?
How old I am :)

What is one question that you are always asked in interviews?
There are quite a few questions that each interviewer has asked me to this point. I’ll go with the first one that comes to mind and that’s if any of my characters are based on any of my own personal traits.

If you were a professional wrestler, what would your ring name be and why?
Oh man!!! I wanted to be a wrestler in my early teens :) My name (back then I thought it was THE BEST) would be Shee The Black Dragon. Yea, I have a thing for dragons. Always did. Always will!

What's the funniest prank ever played on you?
The first thing that pops into my head is one day (after a hard night of drinking). A friend of mine had me believing it was a different day of the week than it actually was. Yea, funny funny har har :)

 As I mentioned before...
Wunder 0.5 was recently released!! Are you not sure if you want to read it?? Well check out this excerpt from it!!!

Wunder (0.5 DreamZ):

Why? Why the torture? Each and every single night since I became a woman I awaken sweating, panting, hot and bothered from the pure sexual torture. Many times with my hand rubbing my most intimate place.  A dream, so many dreams. Each one is different, but all contain the same faceless dark haired stranger. The only thing I know for sure is he is tall, has raven black hair, the same color as mine, but much shorter and the most beautiful eyes I’ve ever seen, glowing eyes that seem to be able to see into my soul. My hearts deepest desires and he always grants them to me without pause. It was strange at first seeing him and yet not. Not being able to make out his facial features, except for his eyes. I got used to it throughout the years, I guess. One thing I DO know is the way he makes me feel, always!

So much passion, heat and desire. He makes me feel beautiful, irreplaceable and wanted in a way, I imagine, everyone woman wants to feel.

            “UGH!”

Frustration at its finest! This latest dream seemed more realistic than all of the others. I still feel the ripples on my skin from his touch; the most intimate touch I’ve ever experienced, the only touch from a male I’ve had in such a manner. The goose bumps are just starting to go away. His caress is always so sensual and arousing. My mouth is still dry from all of the panting I’ve done, my panties are drenched and my heart is still pounding. No words could ever describe my desire to meet this man of my dreams. That’s if he truly does exist. Oh how I hope he does! I’d give anything to feel even a portion of what I’ve felt during these amazingly satisfying yet torturous dreams. Anything!

Check out this excerpt from Wunder (#1 The Approach):

Twenty five years ago, the spread of the virus was out of control. My parents were just trying to survive, and keep their unborn child safe. It was a dark time for the world—for my parents.

I’ve heard the stories from some who escaped being infected. I’ve heard many things about that time in history, when everything went to hell. These people remained normal though, they were average human beings.

As for me, I’ve never known what it was like to be fully human—I was born a quarter zombie.

My parents were what you would call bad-asses, they’d survived the infection and the swarms of biters for a long time, because they did what they had to do. They weren’t scared of the blood and the gore—they did what was needed to survive.

All was going as well as could be expected, considering the chaos happening in the world, with the desperate search for food and drinkable water. Every day was a quest to live, and to keep from being a meal—yourself.

One day, my parents were out looking for supplies and were attacked by a hoard of the infected. It was a close call for them, being overpowered by an abundance of vile, blood hungry zombies, who basically ambushed them.

My father used a hatchet, combined with a few other weapons, concealed on his body to behead and permanently destroy everything in his path.

Eight months pregnant, my mother carried light weight guns and plenty of ammo on her person. She was taught by her husband to aim and shoot—with no hesitation.

Both of them took down zombie, after nasty zombie while holding their position, back to back to one another.

They didn’t see the one slimy fucker on its belly, crawling its way toward their right side. It bit my mother on her ankle. Screaming in pain and terror, she kicked the bastard in the face, while still shooting others down.

My father swiftly pointed his 9mm at the scum’s head, turning its brains to permanent sauce. They both finished off the rest of the obnoxious pests, before running as fast as possible toward the safety of their house. Once back home, my father was a frantic mess. Although, my mother continued to tell him she felt fine, he feared help would be too late.
