For You, By Mimi Strong

Aubrey is a tough girl who rarely smiles. She fled her shabby past for a reason, and won't let anyone close enough to discover her secrets.

Boys with tattoos are on Aubrey's Stay Away list, but fast-talking Sawyer refuses to take a hint.

Sawyer is a kindred spirit who seems as lost in the world as Aubrey. And he's cute. Really cute.

She tries to resist, but Sawyer talks his way into one date, and then another. Things get steamy at the beach, and he does say the sweetest things. Aubrey finds herself smiling, and falling in love.

But when the truth comes out about Aubrey's past, and the police are at the door, will Sawyer stand by her side? Or is she more trouble than she's worth?

THIS NEW ADULT ROMANCE contains mature content. Ages 17+

FOR YOU is a stand-alone novel with a HEA (Happily Ever After) ending and absolutely no cliffhanger.

My Review:
“I whispered, “It’s a beautiful painting.  Nobody’s ever drawn me before.  I didn’t know what it felt like until now.”
                “To be someone’s inspiration?”
The tears returned, and this time they wouldn’t hold back.
                I whispered, “To be seen.”
“I see you,” he said, kissing my hand.  “I see you, Aubrey.”

Ok in all honesty, you read that in a book and what isn’t to love about the book?  While this is a typical romance, there are aspects in the story that make it stand out from all the erotica that is extremely popular right now.  What ever happened to just reading a good old fashion romance?  One where you can tell that the characters want to get to know each other, instead of just getting in their pants?

Aubrey is a strong person, you could tell her strength throughout the whole book.  She puts her life on hold to help her family; she is willing to do whatever it takes to keep them safe.  Even if that means holding herself back from falling in love.  She lets the fears that she has run her life, but she is also willing to do what’s right for her family.

I had mixed emotions about Sawyer in the beginning of the story.  I figured he was up to something, and I didn’t think that he was good enough for Aubrey!  But during the course of the book, you could tell that he actually had feelings for her, and didn’t just want to use her like she had been used in the past.  When push came to shove, he was there and supported her.

If you are looking for an amazing romance, that does have some steamy parts, (but they don’t take over the story)you should really really REALLY check out this book!
