Sara's Review:

 This book combines two of my favorite things: Alpha Males (YES!!) and werewolves.  Rawr.  Or “woof”, I guess I should say.  In my world, you can’t go wrong with an alpha pack leader.  In this respect, “Dark Sentinels Book Two” was not a disappointment.  You get those things in spades.

We are introduced in the beginning to Torin, trying to save his family’s land from greedy real estate developers.  He meets Stephanie, a real estate lawyer, and boy do the sparks fly.  He is stubborn and she is a not sh*t takin’ kind of girl, and I have to admit that the tension and angst between them was quite delicious.  She throws Torin out of her office at their first meeting, and since he refuses to go he waits outside, where he serendipitously becomes her knight in shining armor.   As time goes on, they are drawn more and more to each other, and love blossoms.
 
I think the strength in this book was with the characters.  They are very likeable and real, and as a woman, I connected with Stephanie right away.  This book is exciting; with romance, sex and an undercurrent of disaster seeming to await our characters.
 
The area in which I think this book could improve is by making the storytelling more succinct.  I found that the action occurred very suddenly, without much set up.  I was bit lost in plot development.  I wonder if perhaps if I had read the first book in this series, which I haven’t, if I would have understood more of the secondary story lines presented here.  I give this book a solid 3 stars!

Dariel is a classically trained pianist and vocalist with a degree in piano and vocal performance and a master’s in counseling psychology from The University of Georgia. She also completed studies and passed comprehensives for a Ph.D. (ABD), and tutors algebra and statistics.
