Not At First Blog Tour!

Falling for two men at the same time was something Angel Mabbott never expected to happen.
Leaving a past full of pain and loss in California, Angel is determined to make something of her life when she starts college in Minneapolis. But life takes a turn when she finds herself torn between Kevin and Roman.

Kevin Hawken is a domineering man who forces himself into Angel’s life and changes everything she thought she knew. But how much can he be trusted when he is so secretive about himself?
Angel was instantly intrigued when she first laid eyes on Roman Conti, an Investment firm owner. He was everything she ever wanted in a man: romantic, loving, and protective over her.

As Angel begins to weave a bitter web of desire and deceit, will she find herself consumed, or will she be able to find her way out and follow her heart?

There have been few books that I have read that have left me completely confused after reading the story. I am unsure if that is a good thing, or a bad thing, but in the case of this book, it was a bad thing. While I did enjoy the plot line itself, there were some parts of it where I was left scratching my head trying to figure out what had happened.

Angel’s character I have mixed emotions about because she is your typical weak woman. I feel sorry saying that, but that’s my opinion of her. She doesn’t seem to understand that just because bad things happen to her that means she gives up completely. Even more with that, she seems to be playing both men against themselves.

You have Kevin who seems like he has his life on track, and seems to genuinely care about what happens to Angel. Yet she gets mad at him because he shows that he cares. Roman doesn’t seem to want anything but to control Angel, and even when she sees the horrible side of Roman, she stays with him instead of doing what she believes is right.

I am conflicted about if I would read the next book in the series because part of me wants to find out what happens next, but the other part of me is unsure if I would enjoy reading the story. I suppose it will depend on what others say about the next book.
