My brain is a bit hazy from the drinks I’ve had tonight but
it’s not in the least bit clouded when it comes to this—I know what I want. And
I know he wants the same. At the covered archway with the sign poolroom
above it, he looks around then lifts the sheet of plastic and motions to me to
slip under it. He quickly follows.
Once we’re on the other side he takes my hand and leads me
down the hallway. It’s pitch-black and he has to hold his phone up to guide the
way. Once we enter the room, I look around, but the only thing in here is the
pool table covered by a white sheet. He sets his phone on it, and quickly
hoists me up onto the table.
“You sure about this?” he asks with his heavily lidded eyes
studying me.
Pulling in a shaky breath at the smoldering look in his
eyes, I lean in to kiss the corner of his mouth and purr, “Absolutely.”
With a soft groan he slides between my legs and the feel of
him pressed against me makes me tremble. My breath hitches and my pulse quickens.
Cupping my face in one hand, he traces the seam of my lips with the other. Not
wanting to wait another minute, I wrap my hands around his neck and our lips
move against each other with fervent need, and a soft moan escapes my throat. I
can hear the band playing “Feel This Moment” and I lose myself in the music.
Something almost primal overcomes me. I moan in his ear
loud enough that he can hear me. Sliding my mouth back to his, we consume each
other as our lips move faster, harder, deeper against each other’s. I don’t
care if I fuck him on the floor, the pool table, or against the wall when he
rocks against me. I squeeze my eyes shut, just needing to feel his skin against
mine; trying not to dig my fingernails into him, I want him so badly.
Well, this book could not have come out soon enough. “Connected” left me hanging for months, and I
had to find out what happened with River and Dahlia. This book was filled with so much angst; it
kind of stressed me out. It’s a total page
turner because you just HAVE to know!!!!
So, this story picks up right where “Connected” left
off. If you haven’t read “Connected” I
don’t want to ruin any plot surprises, so I’ll just say that River and Dahlia
find out something right as they are going to elope in Las Vegas that not only
pushes back the wedding, but puts into question whether they will be getting
married at all. GAH! River is like the most perfect man on the
face of the planet, so Dahlia really needs to pull her stuff together!
Just as in the first book, this book is written very well,
with well-developed characters and plot.
I do think that this book had a bit more of a nerve-wracking quality to
it. You know that River and Dahlia have
a once-in-a-lifetime connection, but Kim Karr sets up the reader to really have
no idea where the plot may go. I was on
the edge of my seat for about 90% of this book…I may have a few more gray hairs
now, so thanks for that! I’ll admit it
was worth it.
I can’t express enough how much I really loved this book,
and it was the perfect conclusion to this story. Read this series, you will not be
disappointed. 4.5 stars!

This book is a real heartbreaker. Seriously, it ripped my heart out a bit on a
few levels, and I totally didn’t see it coming.
This is the story of Dahlia London. She’s a sweet person, with a bit of a tragic
past. She lost her parents and is now
alone, except for her fiancé Ben.
They’ve known each other their whole lives, and everything seems to be
falling into place. A chance, albeit
brief, encounter in a bar with River Wilde has an impact on both of them…but
she is engaged to another man, so she leaves the bar and goes back home to
Ben. When tragedy strikes, it takes her
some time to pull herself out of her funk, but she does. In doing so, she meets up with River again,
who is by this time a famous rock star.
Their connection is still there, and it pulls them both in…and this
time, they are free to pursue it.
This is really a very multi-faceted story. It’s not just a story about a girl who falls
in love with a rock star; it goes ways deeper than that. It’s about choices, and how those choices
impact not only your own life, but the lives of those around you. Needless to say, I really enjoyed this
book. And while it does have a
cliffhanger ending, it’s a whopper of a cliffhanger and includes a twist that I
absolutely did not see coming.
Wowza. The writing is great, the
character and plot development are great, the pacing of the story is fantastic
and River…he’s everything you could ask for in a book boyfriend. I highly recommend this book, and I give it
4.5 stars!
