Wyatt Conner is a hard
man. A sixth generation sheriff in his hometown of Garnet. A former MMA
fighter. His life is about following the rules and making sure everyone
else in Garnet follows them too.
Before life hurt him, Wyatt was different. Love had once blinded him to his upbringing and made him defiant against anyone who tried to separate him from the girl he loved. He easily broke laws to ensure her safety.
When she left it destroyed him.
Now she's back.
Tabitha knew coming home was a mistake, but family obligation demanded it. She wasn’t expecting to run smack into the love of her life the same day she returned.
Despite the danger, Tabitha is powerless against the wild rush of desire that explodes between them the moment she finds herself in Wyatt’s arms again. She needs a second chance too, but she can't risk Wyatt finally discovering the real reason she left.
Even for another taste of true love.
Tabitha knows her haunted past will destroy both of them if Wyatt finds out. What she suffered through was too terrible and it's the one thing that will have him crossing the line for revenge.

I came into this book a solid Team Clay fan. Don’t me wrong, I’ve enjoyed all of Kele’s
books, but of the Garnet Gang, Clay was hands down (and up, and all over) my
favorite. Now, I find myself a bit
confused, because as I finished this book I am feeling torn between not only
being Team Clay or Team Wyatt, but now Team Nova too. It’s a good problem to have!
One of the many things that is so wonderful about this book
that it’s not just Wyatt and Tabitha’s long awaited story, it’s really the
story of nearly everyone that you’ve come to know and love in these books. We learn more about Clay, Wyatt, Tabitha,
Juliet and even Nova Moretti. Kele went
so much deeper with this book than she had in previous ones, and she certainly did
justice to Wyatt and Tabitha’s story. You also learn more about secondary
characters like Terry and Hal, and I personally think they might deserve a
story of their own (wink, wink). Terry
also has one of the best lines in the book, when he comes out of the closet to
Wyatt and says “I’m totally fucking gay, Connor”. LOL…love that Terry.
The book follows Wyatt and Tabitha from grade school, where
Wyatt falls in love with Tabitha pretty much right away. Tabitha, unfortunately, is too caught up in
trying to survive her horrible home life day to day (with the help of Clay),
that she doesn’t notice him much. But
that all changes when he starts giving her his cookies for lunch, and in
Tabitha’s mind, that’s when Wyatt becomes a hero to her. This is their story all the way through
adulthood, and while heartbreaking, it is lovely. I won’t lie, it’s painful to
read at time, and I actually messaged Kele about halfway through telling her I
was afraid to go on, but I had to! I’m
glad I followed through.
When I finished
this book, I sighed with a smile on my face.
It’s a beautiful story about first love, loss, and I think the true
meaning of family. Do yourself a favor
and read this book, and all the others that come before it if you haven’t
yet. You can thank me later. 5 stars.
And I will be waiting with bated breath for the next series
that she has coming out, which if what I have been told is correct, will
feature a Nova book! YAY!
Why do my comments not post. . . . ARGH! I think I'm blogging impaired!!
ReplyDeleteThank you, hon! Thank you sooooo much!! This means the world to me!
