“I love that you love me, professor.”
“I love loving you, beauty.”
Since their intense, passionate beginning, Professor Dean West and his wife Olivia have fought dark secrets and betrayal in order to save their marriage. Now reeling in the aftermath of a personal tragedy, Liv and Dean are driven further apart by a vindictive threat to Dean’s career.
Struggling to stand on her own for the first time in years, Liv is determined to defend her husband and prove herself. Then an unexpected letter dredges up old insecurities and endangers Liv’s newfound independence. As Dean fights for his professional life, he is forced to confront his worst fear when he discovers that he can’t protect his beloved wife from her own painful past.
Bravo Nina Lane, Bravo! I swear as soon as
I started this book I felt like Nina Lane had read my previous two reviews and
took them to heart. Everything that bothered me in the previous books were
changed and tied up in a pretty bow in this book. It actually starts with Liv
buying new lingerie! I seriously snorted since that was bugging me so bad in
the previous two books! There was less sex in this one and way more plot. Liv
finally found herself and became a self confident woman. I couldn't have asked
for a better tying up of Dean and Olivia!
"Then
stop using your mother as an excuse for not figuring yourself out." Kelsey
shakes her head. "Honestly, Liv, sometimes you have to put on your big
girl panties and deal with sh!t."
Yep, that was the amazingly, wonderful
Kelsey telling Liv like it is. I think it took that eye opening for her to face
her past, deal with it, and move on. And then she literally went to the
lingerie shop and got some big girl panties! YAY!
"This,
I know, is exactly what Liv wanted. Even through all we've had to deal with,
she's stood her ground, found a goal. and gotten it done. She's finally
realized how strong she is and has proven it to herself."
This book made me fall even more madly in
love with Professor Dean West. Even while dealing with all of the issues he is
having in this book, he was there for Liv and stood by her so she could find
her way. He is so romantic and always knows the right things to say. While he
is sexy as all get out, if any man I met were as sweet as him, he could look
like he was run over by a semi and I wouldn't care.
"I'm
at your feet forever, Olivia Rose," I whispered the instant before our
lips met. "I'll move heaven and earth to give you whatever you want,
whatever you need."
Swoons! That wasn't even the start of his
amazing lines in this book. Anyhow, through all their trials and tribulations,
Dean and Liv found their fairy tale ending and I absolutely loved it.
"Like
milk and cookies, pencil and paper, the moon and stars, please and thank you,
movies and popcorn...Dean and I belong together."
Thank you so much for the wonderful review and participating in the Awaken blog tour! I'm so glad you enjoyed Awaken, especially Liv's growing strength (aided by very necessary big girl panties :-), and that you felt everything came together in the end, as that's very much what I was hoping to do. Thank you so much for your time and support.
