Ok now to my review… This book is
filled with emotions of friendship, love, hatred, sorrow and darks secrets…
This story revolves around Katrina.. Kat, as her friends call her, thinks of
herself as a plain Jane… She doesn’t have the beautiful mile long legs of her
BFF Lexie or the loud outgoing personality of her other BFF Skeigh… and she
holds a secret deep in her heart that not even her BFF’s know about..
While out celebrating Kat’s 21st birthday
(WOO WOO!!!) The girls meet a group of guys and end up at a house party hosted
by Ryder… From the moment she feels his beautiful & daring green eyes on
her all she feels is the intensity in which he stares at her.. It’s like he can
see inside her soul… and that just scares her… Kat has never allowed anyone
besides her BFFs to get close to her… but Ryder has a different plan up his
sleeve…
Ryder is so captivated by Kat’s
beauty… and he knows she is hiding something but somehow all he wants to do is
love her and protect her.. even if it means breaking his own rules and taking
things to the “serious” level of a relationship…
Once Katrina’s dark secret is
threatened to be exposed her world seems to crumble… she comes clean to her
BFFs about what really happened to her as a child and they do nothing more than
keep loving her for the person who she is.. she also comes clean to Ryder and
he can’t help but fall more and more in love with her…
Here is my most honest opinion of
this book… I LOVED EVERY BIT OF IT!!! Not only did the author described each
and every character (felt like I knew them personally) she did an awesome job
making sure everyone had their voices heard… I am hoping the author decides to
write a continuation to this book because I feel Lexie and Skeigh and even TJ
deserve to share their story!!! 5 stars all the way!!!
When
I first started this book I thought.. here we go another half hearted
cutter book.. Half the books that attempt that subject fail.. but after
the prologue we jump forward to a much different person than we saw in
the prologue. I had a hard time putting this book down I was in love
with Ryder from the very beginning. I wanted more of him and.. less of
everyone else.
Anywho..
Besides falling in love for Ryder.. I really loved TJ and felt super
sad for him. I want to know his story... BADLY. So I might have to
grovel at Faith's feet and hope we can get a story about that fine man.
Moving
on to the story line, I thought was very well thought out I liked the
way it played out and the way it wrapped up was fabulous. At times I
felt like there was a lot of drawn out scenes to get to be rushed at the
end. But overall, it was very well done.
4.5 stars!! Well done for a debut novel!!
We come back to reality when the movie starts. Ryder pulls back, my body begging for more, and he has that damned grin on his face. “That makes me very happy.” I smile on the inside, I want to make him happy. To be the reason that smile takes residence on his handsome face.
I have an obsession with anything people consider odd and I think learning is the bees knees. I have an Associates degree in Business Management and was an accountant for 7 years. I know, boooring! But I like having a problem and seeing a solution.
Maybe, just maybe, this is why I enjoy writing so much!
