Julie Lynn Hayes was reading at the age of two and writing by the age of
nine and always wanted to be a writer when she grew up. Two marriages, five
children, and more than forty years later, that is still her dream. She blames
her younger daughters for introducing her to yaoi and the world of M/M love, a
world which has captured her imagination and her heart and fueled her writing
in ways she'd never dreamed of before. She especially loves stories of two men
finding true love and happiness in one another's arms and is a great believer
in the happily ever after. She lives in St. Louis with her daughter Sarah and
two cats, loves books and movies, and hopes to be a world traveler some day. She
enjoys crafts, such as crocheting and cross stitch, knitting and needlepoint
and loves to cook. While working a temporary day job, she continues to write
her books and stories and reviews, which she posts in various places on the
internet. Her family thinks she is a bit off, but she doesn't mind. Marching to
the beat of one's own drummer is a good thing, after all. Her published works can be found at Dreamspinner
Press, MuseitUp Publishing, Torquere Press, and eXtasy Books. She has also
begun to self-publish and is an editor at MuseitUp.

You're kidnapped by a paranormal creature. What
kind would you prefer and why?
Good question.
Now, let’s think. If I’m
going to be kidnapped by a creature of my choice, I should make it a fun
experience, right? So that lets out anyone who might wish to do me bodily harm.
Actually, this is a
no-brainer. When it comes to paranormal creatures, my first love is and always
shall be vampires. They are mysterious, eternal, powerful, and some of them are
extremely sexy. So I’ll focus on the sexy ones.
I first read Bram Stoker’s
Dracula when I was about 12 (and yes, that was a long time ago, about 45
years). Even at that tender age I felt something I could not identify until
later—a sexual attraction—to the main character. Count Dracula is charming,
enigmatic, and mysterious, as well as single-minded, ruthless, and determined.
So what does that make him? The ultimate bad boy, of course. And we all know
how much women love their bad boys, right?
The vampire has been very
popular in film and literature. So many sexy men to choose from (and of course
I must choose just one to be kidnapped by. Unless I want to... but no, let’s
not go there!) I loved Bela Lugosi in the original, plus I loved the old Hammer
Films, with Peter Cushing and Christopher Lee. Probably my all time favorite
Dracula will come as no surprise to anyone that knows me and knows of my twenty
year crush on a certain sexy British actor—Gary Oldman, of course. But for
today, let’s go with someone different, I think.
I caught the series
Moonlight in re-runs and fell in love with Mick St. John, played by Alex
O’Loughlin (now on the new Hawaii 5-0). He was so awesome! I wish they hadn’t
canceled the show, it had such promise. But let’s go on to an even more
contemporary vampire in a current series. The only reason I still watch the
series is because of him, as I think the plots get stupider every time I turn
around. I’m speaking of Vampire Diaries, of course, and my kidnapper of choice
is Damon Salvatore, aka Ian Somerhalder.
What can I say? Yes, Damon
is very much a bad boy, and I’m hoping they’re working on bringing him back to
his bad boy roots ‘cause that’s when he’s the most fun. He’s been hankering
after Elena Gilbert ever since the show began, but she was his brother’s girl
and off limits. But that changed (they should have stuck more to the original
author’s plots, they were more interesting) and Damon ended up with the girl.
Yuck. I can’t stand her. Luckily for me, the real life couple split up so
hopefully they’ll write them apart again. I think it’s headed that way, but
it’s hard to tell. Caroline’s constant pointed barbs to Elena about Damon’s
unsuitableness as a boyfriend are one indicator, to me, as well as the whole
doppelgangers being destined to be together—and Stefan and Elena are the doppelgangers,
not Damon.
At any rate, Damon is my
choice. He’s the life of any part, and I’m sure he would have fun ideas as to
how to have a good time (which would not include hanging about Mystic Falls).
As long as he didn’t compel me to forget our good times, I’d be cool with him
taking a drink. He could take me to exotic places, like going to Paris and
dancing the night away. Or visiting the historical Dracula’s castle in the
Carpathians. He could hold me for ransom indefinitely—I don’t know anyone with
money to pay it.
Yep, Damon Salvatore is my
kidnapper of choice.
Of course, there’s also Bill
Compton and Eric Northman, of True Blood... Hmmm, have to save them for another
kidnapping. What fun those two could be, watching them posture and try to
dominate. Yes, indeed!
Thanks for having me here
today, Crystal!
Reed Hatcher’s life is work, work, work. He owns a
successful men’s boutique in New York City, but a love life is out of the
question—for many reasons. It’s almost Valentine’s Day, and business is brisk.
On an unexpected visit to the Empire State Building, a sexy man literally falls
into Reed’s lap. His name is Taz and he’s just been dumped by his date. One
look and Reed is hooked. He offers to buy Taz some coffee and they leave
together.
Reed is attracted to Taz and takes him home to his
apartment. But Reed discovers there’s more to Taz than he realized—especially
when Taz’s stripes begin to show. And he has a tail? Turns out Taz is not quite
like Reed. In fact, he comes from another planet, far far away, and he’s only
on Earth for a vacation.
Reed never believed in aliens before, but he’s
facing one now, and dear God, what is he going to do? Just when he decides he
loves Taz and together they can handle anything, the alien that dumped Taz
decides he wants him back and steals him away.
Can Reed live with the memory of what he almost had,
and the love he found and lost? How can he ever face the moonlit skies again?
Judas has never been very popular, not in
any incarnation that he and Jesus and the others have lived through. But he
doesn't care about that. All he cares about is following the instructions of
God as set forth in the script that they follow. And Jesus. For Judas has
secretly loved the son of God for over two thousand years.
But now he decides that enough is enough,
and he's tired of watching Jesus die far too early, and for what? This time
Judas is determined to see that Jesus lives a long and happy life, no matter
what price he has to pay to accomplish it...no matter if he has to make a deal
with the devil himself.
