Ok let me start by saying that this is book 2 of the series BUT
you do not need to read book one to understand the sequel. I personally like
reading the WHOLE story but I had not read book one when I started this book.
Right as the book starts we meet Lord Lukas, a man with a mission. And that mission? To find his mother. And we also meet Emma, the woman he thought he could propose a deal to. Though, before he can make a proposition, she proposes one of her own: to travel with Lord Lukas in search of a man she believes killed her husband. The man linked to his own mother’s disappearance.
The story follows them as they travel to Scotland in search of information on her husband and his mother. Emma makes it very clear to Lord Lukas right from the start that she will not be intimate in any way with him. Lukas in turn vows not to touch her; UNLESS she begs.
The author does an awesome job describing the intrigue behind the story of each character. Making the reader fall in love with Lukas and wanting for Emma to realize that there is more to The Lord than the dark front he puts up.
This book is earning a 5 star rating from me and I'm looking to read book 1 of the series ;)
