Leila Marino's biggest dream is to
be a rock star and it finally looks like she is going to get her big break when
she gets the chance to audition for Devil's Lair, who is already on the brink
of shooting sky high. As soon as she meets the head singer, Jack Lair in person
she can't help but swoon. She'd already had a crush on him, but seeing him in
person is SO much different.
Jack Lair is playboy extraordinaire.
Rock Star God. He had no problem getting what he needed from women but he was
always up front with them, not wanting the needy, clingy woman to clog up his
carefree life. He's worked hard to get to the point in his life that his is at
and reaching success is all that he longs for. Wanting to add a new dimension
to their group, they decide to add a female backup singer. Leila walks in and
blows everyone in the bands socks off with her amazing voice but her shy
demeanor has them worried that she won't be able to handle the spotlight.
Jack is surprised to find that he
keeps trying to find any way to spend more time with Leila. Leila stumbles
trying to keep herself from falling all over Jack even after she realizes he is
more than the rockstar he portrays.
While I absolutely loved the story,
there were parts that I really felt dragged the story down in momentum and
seemed unnecessary even if they were good to get to know the side characters,
they detracted from the main characters story greatly. There was also numerous
typos or missing words that really made me stumble along sometimes so while the
story itself is five huge stars.. overall I'll settle with 4 stars.
