The Seeker Series by Ditter Kellen

Ember Wells knows the fear of having a serial killer set his sites on you. For one horrible year she became the target of one man's twisted game. But with the killer convicted and behind bars, Ember's life as a photojournalist has finally returned to normal. That is, until Angelo Dimitrov moves in next door.

Angelo, known as Angel, is sexy, irresistible, and definitely hiding something. He calls up every erotic fantasy Ember could imagine while triggering perpetual doubt in her reporter's mind.

Now a copycat has emerged, with the killer's M.O. and signature, including his interest in Ember. With fear her constant companion, Ember's suspicions fall on her sexy new neighbor with one too many secrets. She can't trust him, but she burns for him, and Ember's heart refuses to believe the threats come from the Angel of her dreams.

Note: Ember Burns is the first part of a serial novel, and as such lacks a traditional happy ending. The next installment will be available in early 2014. Feel the burn! Don't wait. Pick up the first part today!

Oh. My. God! That was a fantastic read! I'm not sure where to start. For a novelette, Ember Burns packs a lot in without leaving the reader feeling rushed or overwhelmed. And the cliffhanger ending reminds me of a television show ... and I freaking loved it!

Ms. Kellen's writing style made it easy for me to get to know Ember, her best friend Laura, and Angel quickly and become invested in them. My reading group recently discussed whether or not we liked books in which the main characters have sex with little to no relationship building. I am of the mind that it depends upon the book and how the author presents it. Let me just say that Ms. Kellen does an excellent job with the first sexual encounter between Ember and Angel and it soooooooo works. HOT!!! Where do I find my very own Angel?

The author combines the perfect amount of action, suspense, and sexual chemistry that I was extremely disappointed that it ended. Fortunately I have the sequel cued up to read as soon as I finish writing this review. I can't wait to find out what happens next ... especially after that ending.

Ember is quickly falling for the mysterious Angel who entered her life only days before. He possesses her body, but she's guarding her heart. With so many questions unanswered and a serial killer on the loose, her trust isn’t something she’s willing to give.

Even without her trust, Angelo has sworn to protect Ember. But she's determined to go after the Seeker. With her stubborn disposition and quick wit, she foils Angelo's plans again and again.

I so did not see that coming! Ms. Kellen has crafted yet another amazing novelette in The Seeker series. Ember Learns picks up exactly where Ember Burns left off and you are in for a serious shock at what occurs, but nothing is as shocking as what Ember learns about her family. I must reiterate, I did NOT see THAT coming.

It's hard to discuss Ember Learns without revealing spoilers and I don't like to read reviews with spoilers, so I do my best to keep them out of the reviews I write. While EL doesn't have the same level of suspense as EB did, it packs a bigger punch emotionally as Ember is faced with some hard truths about her family. If it can be believed, the sex was even hotter this time around. Again, where can I find my own Angel? Because The Seeker is a serial novel, I was much better prepared for the possibility of another cliffhanger ending and Ms. Kellen does not disappoint.

So that you can fully understand how much I like The Seeker series, I should explain that I don't typically read serial novels, at least not past the first one IF I happened to pick it up for free. I am a bargain hunter, so I tend to feel they are overpriced for the amount of book you get with each installment and there are so many free books that can be "bought" on Amazon that I don't bother with them. Had I not received a free copy of Ember Burns, I doubt I would have ever read it. As such, I am very happy I had the opportunity to read and review Ember Burns and Ember Learns. I have a new series to buy and have added a new author to my must read list. I will be impatiently waiting for the next installment.
