States Air Force. On the eve of his first assignment, he meets the woman
that will haunt his dreams and change his life.
A single night to connect, but a decade to realize it . . . when one man is torn between the love of his country and what might have been the love of his life, how does he stay sane? How does he cope? And will he ever get a second chance at love?

The author was able to put a whole
story into only 42 pages and left us wanting more of Marshall and Melody. All
Marshall was looking for was one last roll in the sack before he left the next
day to head to war. He just needed the touch of an American woman, Lord
knows how long it would be before he would feel that again, if ever. What
he didn’t expect was for Melody to fill a void in his life that he had carried.
After their night of passion, he
carried that memory in his dreams for the next ten years. After flying
missions and dropping bombs the military felt he would be better back at home
training the next generation of pilots. With nothing left but his memory
of Melody, he began drowning his feelings in a bottle of whatever was handy.
Realizing he needed help, he started therapy and was encouraged to seek out
Melody, did she reach her dreams of becoming a doctor, was she married, have
kids? These were answers he wasn’t sure he wanted, but knew he needed if
he was ever going to move on with his life.
After a phone call, his world
started taking a different turn. He found out what happen to Melody and
then just as he thought things might be finally giving him a break, the
unthinkable happens. The author is brilliant at sucking us in on page one
and giving us a story with minimal words. She creates the scene for us
that takes us away for an hour and characters that we will long to hear more
about. I have to say these 42 pages made an impact on me, reminded me of
what love and dedication and being left behind is all about. Make sure
you get your copy of Unchained Melody and sit back and enjoy the escape it will
bring you.
