Gemma Carlson didn’t plan on waking up married.
She also didn’t count on running into her old flame—and her son’s father-turned-country-rock star—Travis Bowers, followed by a night of drunken dares. Apparently one of those involved a ring on her finger and a vow…neither of which she intends to keep. Now with a hangover from hell, this good-girl-gone-bad knows there’s just one thing to do: run.
Travis has been all over the world, but Gemma has never been far from his thoughts. So when he had the chance to catch up over a few drinks, he didn’t hesitate. Of course he didn’t expect it would lead to marriage, or a runaway bride! Travis finally has a second chance and doesn’t plan on losing Gemma again—or the son he didn’t know he had. He proposes—albeit belatedly—a date. Or rather, a few. If they can make this marriage work by starting over, he stays. If not…
Gemma’s not interested; she’s got a son to protect and a heart to heal. But having Travis around could make both a little easier. Still, good girls don’t date rock stars…right?

A story of young love and hormones. Gemma met Travis when she was a dweeb in high school. The hunk needed help and she helped him. Only to fall deeply in love. When he hits it big as a rock star he goes out on tour. Leaving her back home. And pregnant. After she finds him "cheating" on her she decides to not tell him about the baby and move on breaking up with him. Fast forward 10 years later she runs into him in Las Vegas and rekindles their affair. Only to end in a drunken night with consequences.

This book is one in which you feel the emotions. Gemma loves RAW. She gives all and expects all. But having been burn once can she give him a chance again!? The author does a great job sharing the POV of both characters. I wish we could see more of what Gracie and Mike think. I love that these secondary characters are very outspoken. They say what they feel when they feel it and they are not afraid. I would give this book a 5/5 rating

This book took me totally by surprise.  I expected some hot chick going after a rock star, hot sex scenes with the woman taking whatever the alpha male handed out but Codi gave us a story of a very strong woman and a man who is a country music star and a whole lot of twists and turn in between.
You have heard the saying what happens in Vegas stays in Vegas, well not for Gemma.  What happen years ago in a small town followed her to Vegas and then back home again. Gemma was an overweight book nerd in high school whose heart belonged to Travis.  They had been friends for years and only dated four months before she stumbled on an event that left her breaking it off and crushing both of their hearts.  She was determined that if he wanted her he knew where to find her.  She spent the next ten years trying to rebuild her life after being cast out of her family due to her involvement with Travis.  Being taken in by an older lady who ran a book store Gemma found her career and future and did the best she could as a scared young woman.
Travis hadn’t known security at all in his childhood.  Being passed around in foster families he finally found a good one at the age of 17.  He felt an attraction to Gemma and owed his music career to her.  Signing a contract with a record label, his life no longer belonged to him.  A few weeks into his first tour Gemma had come to surprise him, but she found him in a situation that proved anything but his faithfulness.  Before he could explain and tell her what really happen, she broke his heart and left.  He wanted to go after her many times in the last ten years, but his pride wouldn’t allow him.  Growing up with no family he had a firm rule, unless you fight to be in his life you have no place in his world.  That rule worked well except Gemma never left his heart.
After a few days in Vegas he woke up to find she left him again, only leaving the gifts he gave her and a note.  Well his pride wasn’t as firm this time and he went after her.  Once he got to her he was confronted with a surprise that turned his world upside down.  How could Gemma lie to him all these years?
I was sucked into this story at the first chapter.  The author gave us real characters with real emotions, insecurities and fears.  While reading it I could identify with each motive that drove a character to make the choices they made and the story read so smoothly, it was over before I knew it.  While there was a few tense moments that made me feel I couldn’t read this book fast enough, overall it was more of an enjoyable read about second chances, redemptions and the courage it takes to make the one you love yours, no matter how many years have passed, the heart never stops longing for that one certain love.

I just finished Good Girls Don't Date Rock Stars and I really liked it. It was a quick sexy read about second chances. Who wouldn't love that?!! Gemma is needing a vacation while her son is at camp. Going to a Romance Conference in Vegas, she sees someone that she hasn't seen in 10 years...Her son's daddy Travis although Travis doesn't know he has a son. With anger still fueling her heart, she decides that he doesn't need to know. He persuades her to hang out, no hidden agenda but the sexual tension is so high that what harm would it do for them to follow through and satisfy their hunger? More than you realize. Waking up married is not something Gemma thought would happen, thinking rejection will follow...leaves a note but runs home to safety. Little did she know that Travis would come for her...What will her reaction be when she sees him again? What will his reaction be once he finds out that he has a son? You will have to read and see.....
I really enjoyed the story, thought that it flowed really well. I definitely had some OMG moments because I really wanted to smack the ever living crap about of Gemma sometimes. I all for being truthful so for me, her lying about Charlie was a big no no, and for her to at times lie to think that she is helping Travis, was just beyond me. Why not act your age and talk it out instead of running. Other than that, I liked her. Thought that she was sweet and she really at the end of the day wanted the best for all of them even though it was misguided. Travis, he was just yummy. He was sexy and damn, he had every right to be utterly pissed at her. I like how he calmed down and was able to forgive. One thing I can say is that the chemistry between them was hot. The sexual tension was there and when it ignited it was yummy.
I liked the secondary characters, especially Gracie. She cracked me up. I wonder if we have more coming? If you are looking for a quick, sexy yet satisfying read, then this one is for you.

How many glasses of champagne did I have last night? Gemma Carlson groaned, gritting her teeth against the stabbing pain that seemed to be spreading through her brain. She didn’t want to open her eyes, afraid of what she would find. Right now she was only sure of two things. One, her head hurt like a son of a bitch and two, she was very, very naked. Prying open her right eye, she tried to focus on her surroundings, but instead of seeing intricate, golden wallpaper, she found the walls were now light colored. A couch sat in the corner of the room, though her room had had a tiny office chair and desk. The landscape on the wall was new, too. She opened both eyes, blinking rapidly at the dryness, and realized she had no idea where she was. Which meant she obviously wasn’t in her hotel room. A light snore behind her caught her attention and she stiffened, turning her head slowly to look at her bedmate. She sucked in a breath at the sight of dark curls and a broad back, the only things visible above the heavy comforter. What have I done? Sitting up, she swallowed down the rolling nausea and fought the splitting headache, catching her face in her hands. And then she felt it. Something cool and metal on her finger. Something that definitely shouldn’t be there. Pulling her hands back, she stared at the large three-stone diamond ring on her left index finger and froze.
