OMG I so love this book.
Xander and Mercedes are my new power couple. Well if you have been
following the series then you already know Xander is one of the hottest
fictional boyfriends ever and the ultimate Dom. He meets Mercedes through
a friend during a business deal and he becomes interested in what those two
could create. Later they become partners and friends, the problem is, she
is a Domme and not willing to give up that power.
We are able to see the families that
both Xander and Mercedes came from, hers not so pleasant and the driving force
behind her never being able to give up control of her choices and life.
Xander’s parents were just so cool, I feel in love with them and it really
showed that they were the reason Xander was so confident in his life and his
power to take charge of things around him.
Xander can tell that Mercedes needs
more than being a Domme, he sees her submissive side and decides she needs to
be with him. He uses his charm and control to make an agreement with her
for just enough time to make her see what she really is. There are scenes
that will make you melt because of his patience and compassion but there is
that heat that only he can provide when he uses his Dom voice and makes
commands. He has to show her that the only thing stopping her from being
who she was meant to be is the lack of trust.
Mercedes has spent her whole adult
life creating this world around her that would allow her to be in control, not
only in her daily life but in business and in the bedroom. She never has
an emotional connection with her subs, she did that once and was burned rather
badly. Mercedes is struggling with her heart that already belongs to Xander and
her mind that reminds her of what life was like being controlled by a
man.
I loved that we were able to catch
up with the other characters in this series. I do not like when an author
starts weeding out the original characters that we fell in love with and Ms.
Edwards doesn’t do that. We were able to see Logan and Sam as they decide
between becoming part of the BDSM lifestyle versus just finding a third to join
them, or maybe both. Cass and Shane embark on a Dom/Sub relationship
along with the threesome that we feel in love with earlier in the series.
This was a long book but it still
felt too short because I wanted so much more of this group of characters and I
wanted more of Xander. His love and protective nature just made me sigh
and fall deeper in love with him. I would strongly recommend the Club
Destiny Series, for me it ranks right up there with Shadowland and Masters at
Arms series.
