Summer Sins is a short story, packed with a ton of emotions and drama.  It kept me engaged in the story from beginning to end and left me wishing that I had more of Emma and Adrian.
Emma is a reporter for a gossip magazine.  She hates this job, hates that she is expected to exploit the rich and famous and drag their dirty laundry out to be observed by society.  Even though this is not the job of her dreams, she stays there hoping it will get her in the door to a more respectable newspaper or magazine, besides she has rent to pay so she is trapped in this job till something better comes along.  Emma is the kind of woman who won’t write a story unless she has experienced the thrill herself.  She has a bucket list that is huge and she isn’t afraid to do anything.  Suffering the loss of her fiancé a year earlier she is alone in the world and she has needs that she would like to explore so the assignment to do a piece on the local BDSM club was exciting to her.
Adrian is a surgeon who had just come out of a humiliating relationship with a submissive.  The woman didn’t know how to keep his personal life quiet and away from the hospital.  Now trying hard to get on staff at the big medical center he has put in a ton of hours and ignored his personal needs for months.  Cautioning himself that he can’t just pick a submissive at random he has accepted the invitation to go to the club with friends to observe and see the new addition that was recently added to the club by the owners.  Little did he know his friends had planned on introducing him to Emma.
Taking slow steps to see if Emma was trust worthy and worth training as his new submissive, they learn about each other and the attraction was there.  He began to believe she was telling him the truth about why she was asking so many questions, while Emma was trying to find a solution on how to write this piece for her boss but not disclose any private information and hurt her friends or Adrian.
The story takes a few turns that leave you in suspense but then you gain full closure at the end.  I am not usually a fan of short books but I have to say this one had my attention from page one till the end and I didn’t feel cheated or left confused at all.  The author gave us a great story and some characters that are very addicting.
