It's been a year since Kayla Sutton walked away from Gage Channing, the man who blackmailed her into sexual slavery. Now he's back, and so is Ian Kaplan, Kayla's one-time lover from her college days. Both men want her, but only one holds the power to make her submit—to her own dark desires and to the truth she still denies, even to herself.
But Gage's jealousy is his worst enemy, and when he thinks Kayla has chosen Ian, he sets in motion a drastic plan to claim what's his. Only Kayla never expects him to infiltrate her heart so effortlessly; and she never dreamed there would come a day when he wouldn't want her—when the mere sight of her turns him away in disgust.
He believes she’s committed the ultimate sin, but will she use his mistake to finally escape the cage of his obsession? Or will she do whatever it takes to make him see he can entrust his heart to her...just as she's already lost the core of her being to him?
I just finished Devil's Salvation and I just loved it, the whole series really. If you have been following then you know this is the final in this story and you cannot read this without the others and for me it just got better and better. As you know Kayla stole money from Gabe, her boss, and instead of going to jail she accepted and signed a contract being his submissive/sex slave. This first three books (Ultimatum, Enslaved, and Retribution) you know that there have been ups and down with this relationship but we have come to one year later that she has been away from Gabe and her mind is trying to catch up with her heart even though at times she doesn't want to be with him. But guess who is showing up at her door. Yep that is right. Gabe and Ian. It's time for the final decision. Does she choose Ian, who she thinks wants. Or does she chose Gabe, the man she thinks she needs. You will have to read and see.
I just loved this series. For me I started off like most. No freaking way. Gabe is a cruel bastard and there would be no way that I would have done what Kayla had to go through. Grant it, she needed the money to save her daughter but damn, just no way. I hated him with a passion. Now I'm like "you want me on my knees?" "Ok, where you want me?"!!! No lie. It took me awhile to say the least but damn he grew on me but good. He is a dirty boy and he is soooooo fine but he does have a sadistic streak. Hell, I get it. I forgive him. He makes some of the most stupidest choices to where I could have just kicked him in his nuts but I forgave him too. Kayla has taken so much from him. She is such a strong girl, very brave. Hell you have to be deal with him. I can see though why it is such a hard decision for her. But what would you do? That is the ultimate question. I can say though that they are hot together. I've never read anything quite like this. It reminded me of FSOG but it was different because Christian lets go some of his possessive tendencies. Gabe is Christian on crack. Love them both though (snort)
Honestly this series had me from the get go and it turned out to be one of the ones that will stay forever in my mind and my heart. I had so many freaking emotions. One minute I was flying high on love and the next I was like what the fu@&. It pulled me into so many directions but I enjoyed the ride.
You have to get this one. You won't regret it
I have followed this series since
book one, waiting for the moment to see who Kayla was going to be with. I
can’t say I agree with her choice, I can’t even say she followed her heart or
common sense but it is what it is.
A bit of background, Kayla was working
for Gage and she had a sick daughter who needed expensive medical
treatment. She was caught stealing from Gage to pay the bills when he
gave her the choice of jail or she could become his sex slave. She chose
to be his slave so she could still be there for her daughter.
As the series progresses we see that
Kayla had a deep connection to Ian, and she had developed some sense of loyalty
to Gage. The men were brothers with a huge amount of angst and a painful
history. Kayla became a pawn in this war
This book starts where Kayla has
finally escaped Gage and had set herself and daughter up in Texas. Gage
had spent a year in jail for the crimes he had committed and once released he
showed up on her door step. She let him back in for one night, because
while her mind says no, her body can’t refuse him. Ian shows up the next
day to warn her Gage is free, he was too late and he begged her to turn away
from Gage and allow him to take care of her and her daughter.
This is the final book in the series
and we watch as Kayla has to come to terms with who she wants to be with.
Is the harsh treatment and bruises Gage leaves on her during a punishment or
sexual experience abuse or just kinky sex? Ian is sure she is abused and
he wants to save her but will she listen to him. Can she turn away from
the control Gage has on her?
I enjoyed this series even though I
lost count at how many times I got angry and wanted to shake Kayla and make her
wake up. There are some intense issues that are addressed in this story,
many twists and turns and she gives us an emotional journey that will leave you
breathless at the end, scratching your head and wondering what in the world
just happen here?

My breath grew shallow, from arousal, from fear. Gage was good at that—eliciting strong emotions that contrasted so sharply, they knocked a person on their ass in total confusion. I shouldn’t want him. I should scream at him to get the hell out of my house and never come back. I should get a freaking restraining order.
As if the turmoil inside me didn’t exist, I set our omelets on the table and calmly took a seat across from him. “What did you mean by boundaries?” I stabbed a bite and shoved it in my mouth. Raising my eyes to his turned out to be a mistake. His hypnotic stare paralyzed me; I couldn’t look away if my life depended on it. I fell into the ocean of his gaze and almost missed the satisfied quirk of his lips. Almost.
“You know by now that a relationship with me won’t be your standard variety. You’ll have rules that govern your behavior.”
“My behavior?”
“Yes. I expect you to obey me.” He set his fork down and winced. “But last year I was cruel to you and that’s not how I normally treat a woman. Not even when they beg me to hurt them beyond what I’m comfortable with.”
“Then why?” I choked out. Everything he’d done hit me square in the chest, and his admission that he’d been exceptionally cruel hurt more than it should.
“I wanted to destroy what was his.” He lowered his head with a frown. At least he had the grace to look ashamed.
“Congratulations.” I let my fork drop, satisfied with the clatter it made. “You succeeded.”
“No, I didn’t. Your strength is both my frustration and my undoing. There’s nothing more irritating or sexier on a woman.” He took a bite, and his gaze veered up to mine. “And to clarify on what I mean by boundaries, we’ll set limits this time. You’ll have a safe word.”
“You’re talking as if we’re going to be together.”
“I’m not leaving here without you, Kayla.”
