All Keegan wanted was a roommate who was quiet, minded their own business, and paid for part of the rent. Instead, she got Camden Brooks.
Camden, with his sinful body, sharp tongue, and the inability to stay out of Keegan’s personal business, couldn’t seem to curb his interest in the new girl who wouldn’t put up with his domineering ways.
Feelings were running rampant, sexual tension was thick, and both were struggling to let go of control.
To some people, getting a roommate simply meant living with another person. But to both Camden and Keegan it was a curveball that neither was prepared to swing at.
Camden Brooks. I have very few
“book boyfriends” but Camden has just joined the ranks. This is one seriously
hot alpha male. Can he be an arse, bossy, dominant? Absolutely, but most of
them are and that is what makes them so enticing. But at the same time, the
good book boyfriends are caring, protective, possessive (and not in a stalker
way), prefer to show that they love through actions rather than words, and are
hella hot in the bedroom. And Camden Brooks meets ALL of these requirements.
While it might be a cliché,
Keegan is the plain-Jane that does not realize that she has the effect she does
on the opposite sex, especially Camden. Granted they got off to a REALLY bad
start, but she has serious doubts about herself. A large part of her self-doubt
is likely due to the fact that she spent years mothering herself and then later
her sister Sarah, who is 12 years younger. Fortunately, Keegan’s self-doubt is
largely body-image related and the independence she was forced to develop as a
child has resulted in a spit-fire of a woman whose sarcasm I greatly
appreciated.
The relationship development
between Keegan and Camden is one of the more entertaining ones I have read in a
while. They start off as roommates with a serious amount of animosity between
them. As they come to an uneasy truce, thanks in large part to Dodger (Camden’s
brother) and Sarah acting as diffusers, they begin to develop a friendship. As
friendship is as far as Keegan believes their relationship will ever go, she
begins dating Luke. The get along great and Keegan really begins to see a
future with him. Suffice it to say, life with Luke is not all she thinks it is
and when she finds herself in a really bad situation, Camden is the one she
turns to to see her through it. This is the turning point in their relationship
and where things really begin to heat, literally. While their relationship up
to this point is entertaining, it becomes down right scorching as the sexual
chemistry between Keegan and Camden is explosive. Yikes! These are some of the
best sex scenes I have read as of late.
Ms. Borel has produced a book
that made me laugh out loud, groan in frustration, cringe, hurt for the
characters, turned me on, and kept me entertained from beginning to end. I
cannot wait for the next book in the series. Yes, that’s right, a series about
the yummy Brooks brothers and there are three more of these hotties. I am so
looking forward to reading about each one of them.
