Cade Tour Stop!

Sexy billionaire wolf shifters, BBW as their mates, Vampires for friends, evil ex-husband and mob boss. Put it all together in the French Quarter and Bayou and you have CADE.

Anna James is single again, finally. In her opinion, men are self-centered and will never love her for who she is, a beautiful, plus sized woman. All except the fantasy man that she’s been meeting in her dreams for five years.
She just never expected her fantasy to be a real live alpha shifter...
Cade Le Beau isn't what he seems. He’s a billionaire wolf. A Shifter. He laments his missed chance six months ago to meet his fantasy woman in the flesh. Just as his second chance presents itself, his fantasy woman, his mate, is threatened by the local mob boss and her ex-husband. Now, he has forty eight hours to deal with this threat once and for all or chance losing her again.
Is it Anna who’s in danger, or the humans who unwittingly threaten her?
The heat is on the moment they lay eyes on each other. Neither, age, children, horrid ex-husbands, nor mob bosses will stop this love affair.
Anna never thought she would find the man of her dreams.  After finally being free of a cheating and abusive marriage, she is looking for a fresh start.  She moves to New Orleans and is minding her own business one day when the literal man of her dreams walks in the door.   Cade knows with one scent that Anna is his mate.  As his alpha nature takes over, he not only shows Anna what love can be, but what it means to protect what yours.
I really liked this story.  When I first got into romance book, I almost exclusively read PNR.  I’m always happy when I come across a book like this that reminds how good this genre can be.  Anna and Cade are great characters that really pull you in to their world.  I love how Cade takes the time to show her that she deserves to love and be loved and that she was beautiful to him.  He’s not perfect, but he’s perfect for her.  Plus, Anna is so relatable.  She’s a middle aged, average woman with a little fluff…I LOVED that about her.  Sexy, alpha billionaire can’t get enough of a normal lady?  YES!!!
The plot was pretty good too.  It wasn’t only romance but a little bit of suspense and action.  Also, the world building was really complete and done well.  I could imagine it all very clearly in my head and I felt that the shifters were cheesy and overworked.  It all just worked really well together.  If you love PNR, this really needs to go on your TBR!  4 Stars!
This was a good read and a good start for the Le Beau Brothers series. The Le Beau’s are a wolf shifter family from New Orleans and Cade is the eldest son. I liked that Cade and Anna dream shared for five years before they ever met. It not only gave Anna something to help her through five years of an awful marriage while she waited for her sons to graduate, it also allowed for her and Cade to build a relationship before meeting … even if neither of them knew that it was occurring. I also found the human age regression upon mating a rather interesting twist and felt it dealt very nicely with the potential pitfalls that would have otherwise occurred considering Anna’s age.

I typically don’t focus on the aspects of a book that I don’t like unless it is an absolutely horrible read. Cade is not a bad read at all, but there are a couple of things that would have taken this from being a good read to a great read. The most noticeable being that except for a handful of words and phrases, there is very little New Orleans dialect present in the book. Normally I may not have noticed this as readily, but last week I read two books that were set in New Orleans that were dialogue heavy, so this stuck out to me. I also felt that the author resolved the conflicts between Anna and her ex and Cade and the mob boss far too quickly, it was almost anticlimactic and made the book seem rushed in those parts (which did not occur at the end of the book). As I said, these are not negatives that detract from the story, but rather aspects that I feel would have enhanced the book.

Cade is a solid read and a good start to the series. It appears that this is Ms. Dold’s debut novel and she has done well. I look forward to reading the next book in the series as I want to learn more about Simon and his mate and I enjoy seeing a new author’s skill evolve with each new book.
V.A.Dold is the author of the Le Beau Brothers series, New Orleans wolf shifter novels. A graduate of Saint Cloud University, she majored in marketing. Prior to becoming a full time writer, she was a publicist to the authors, owning Innovative Online Book Tours and ARC Author & Reader Con's (ARC NOLA) (ARC Phoenix). Still is. The companies mesh so well together, much like PB&J.
Her idea of absolute heaven is a day in the French Quarter filled with nothing but her computer, her coffee mug and the Brothers, of course.
A Minnesota native with her heart lost to Louisiana, she has a penchant for titillating tales featuring sexy men and strong women. When she's not writing, she's probably taking in a movie, reading or traveling.
Her earliest reading memories are from grade school. She had a major fixation with horses, and the Black Stallion was a favorite. Then junior high came along and teenage hormones kicked in. It became all about the Harlequin Romances. She has been hooked on romances ever since.
