For a thousand years,
Chace has searched for a way to break the curse placed on him by a
jilted lover. He’s a dragon shifter, one who can’t control when the
magic will force him into a different form. He’s already lost everyone
he ever cared about a few times over and doesn’t know how much longer
he’s meant to suffer.
At his wit’s end, he makes a deal with a mysterious figure that offers him what he wants most – an end to his misery – in exchange for everything that’s his: His life, his power. His heart.
The next day, he meets Skylar, a modern day dragon slayer whose mission is to cage him – or kill him. Sexy, witty and brave, she is the yin to his yang, the woman destined to break the curse, balance his magic and make his broken heart whole.
Except it’s too late. Not only has he sealed his fate, but an innocent one-night-stand with Skylar has dragged her into the middle of a deal with the devil, one she won’t escape, if he can’t convince her that dragon shifters aren’t her enemies.

This was a book
that actually caught me off guard with how much I enjoyed it. I was intrigued
by the blurb of the book, and honestly when I first started it I wasn’t sure
how I was going to like it. But as the story progressed, I started to enjoy it
quite a bit.
It was really
interesting the twists that happened during the course of the story. And
honestly, it felt like there were too many twists that happened. But they were
still revealed in very good ways. There actually weren’t any questions that I
had during the course of reading the story that I had, that were left
unanswered. The only downfall to that is that I don’t really have a strong
feeling to read the next book in the series. While I still probably will, to me
personally it doesn’t feel like if I don’t read it right now, I will be missing
out.
I did enjoy the
fact that this was about dragon shifters. I think that by having the book about
a shifter that isn’t as common as the others was a really smart move for the
author because it added something more to the story.
I thought that
the characters were really well written, to the point where I wasn’t left
wondering about anything having to do with them. It did feel as though in the
beginning there were a lot of characters to have to keep track of, but
thankfully as the story went on, it was easier to follow who was who, and what
they were there for.
Overall, I did
enjoy the story, and I will more than likely read the next book in the series.
