In Darkest Flame by Donna Grant, the
Dark Kings have fought for centuries to preserve their dragon magic. But one of
the most powerful warriors of his kind will be put to the ultimate test. Is he strong
enough to resist his greatest temptations? Or will he be forced to
surrender—body and soul?
HER
BEAUTY IS A WEAPON.
Denae
Lacroix is a beautiful MI5 agent on a deadly mission. Sent to the Scottish
Highlands to spy on the mysterious Dreagan Industries, she discovers too late
that she’s been set up—as human bait. She is an irresistible lure for a man who
has not seen or touched a woman for centuries. He is a man with a destiny—and a
desire—that could destroy them both…
HIS
PASSION IS A CURSE…
It’s
been twelve hundred years since Kellan has walked among humans—and there’s no
denying the erotically charged attraction he feels for Denae. But as a Dragon
King, he is sworn to protect his secrets. Yet the closer he gets to this smart,
ravishing woman, the more her life is in danger. All it takes is one reckless
kiss to unleash a flood of desire, the fury of dragons…and the fiercest enemy
of all.
FINALLY!!! Oh my
gosh, I had about given up on Kellan after the last part of this series, but
thankfully he was finally able to redeem himself in my eyes! Don’t get me
wrong, the back and forth with him was semi-interesting, but seriously man? You
were giving me whiplash between not liking you, and loving you completely!
Ok now that I
have that out of the way, to me personally it felt as though this part of the
series went rather quickly. It could be perhaps because I was so excited with
how it started out that I just couldn’t wait to see what was going to happen
between Kellan and Denae.
During this part
of the series, we do get to find out a little bit about Tristan, which was
really great for me personally because he’s been the quiet one of the bunch. We
don’t really know that much about him, but we were finally able to find out
something!
There was a ton
of action happening during parts of this story, which was amazingly well written
in my opinion. It wasn’t too overdone, yet it wasn’t just slightly there
either. Ms. Grant does a really great job with the balance between all aspects
of the story to the point where you don’t feel overloaded with any one thing
happening.
I do think it’s
really interesting how Ms. Grant has added the parts about MI5 being taken over
by the Dark Ones. Throughout this series so far it has been mentioned that they
believe that has happened, but as we get further into the story, it just makes
it so much more interesting. It definitely leaves you wondering for more.
I really can’t
wait for the final part of this series!
