Dressed In White by Jessica Gibson

Lorelei Peters had everything she had ever dreamed of. Amazing friends, a sexy boyfriend, and a job that she absolutely loved.

Dillon Brockwell was all she had ever wanted. Handsome, successful, and he loved her as much as she loved him. Life was going along the way it was supposed to, until someone from Dillon’s past shows up and shatters everything to pieces.

Can Lorelei and Dillon get through all the craziness and make it down the aisle? Or will lies of omission be enough to derail them forever.

Usually we read about the drama from the time a couple meets till the happy moment they say I do, not so with this book.  After dating for a number of years Dillon finally ask Lorelei to marry him.  Of course waiting for this day for what seemed like forever she was happy to accept his proposal and begin to dream about their big day. Both are successful individuals in their professional careers as well as in their personal life. The years they have been dating have been happy ones and they are already established in their home living together.  Getting married seemed like the next step for them.
Life had other plans, such as a knock on the door that presented a part of Dillon’s past that he had neglected to tell Lor about.  As he tried to explain to her that back then he did what he thought was a kind and noble thing, he didn’t see a need it bringing it up now.  How do you explain you just asked the woman of your dreams to marry you when you are still married to another woman? He is going to have to work hard to answer her questions and prove the truth against the lies that his ex-wife is going to tell.  Not to mention Lor’s family and friends won’t be too pleased with this news and how hurt Lor is.
The author wrote a brilliant story showing just how much a woman can put up with for the love of a man.  Just when Lor thinks things are settled and the ex-wife can go away, something new appears at their feet for them to deal with.  While Dillon has to wonder by now if it wouldn’t have been better to just tell the truth in the beginning, he is now trying to put out fires before they burn the last connection he and Lor have.
I really enjoyed this book, it was a quick read full of emotions and drama but never did she take it too far.  While we had the edge of our seat moments waiting for Lor to see if this was the last straw, she also gave us a heartwarming story of Lor’s sister Kayla and what she was going through.  The side characters such as Roxy and Shelby added to the story as Lor’s best friends and we even were introduced to the extended families and the traditions that made the family bond strong.  I felt this was a very well written story about how far you would go, how much trust you can have, and how much fight you are willing to use in order to have your happily ever after.  I would highly recommend this book.
