Her

Snark. Jokes. Attitude.
These were all things I used to disguise the hole in my heart. I'm not a happy person. I don't live life. I just exist. That is until that beautiful man rides in on his Harley Fat Boy and burns rubber on the way into my heart.

Him

My life's been no hayride either. Everyone I've ever loved in life has died or betrayed me. So I stay back and watch. Unless you're one of my brothers, you get nothing from me. I don't participate. I ride. I eat. I sleep. I work. And I repeat. That is until Ember stomps into my life with her bad attitude. She's all piss and vinegar, and makes me want to share my bike seat for the first time.

Together
They fight like cats and dogs. Don't see eye to eye on a single thing. They rant, rave, and yell.
They bring out the best in each other. They heal each other's hearts and souls. They find what they were missing, even the things they never even knew they had.

Everything is perfect. If you didn't count a gang, one of the biggest in the South, gunning for Ember. That, or the pure evilness that is Gabe's ex-girlfriend. Gabe will have to put his life on the line to save the one woman he loves, but will it be enough?

One thing is constant in life. It's about the journey, not about the destination.

I am so friggin’ happy that the MC book has become a popular sub-genre, because I love everything about it.  The rough men, the sometimes even rougher women, the fights, the make-up sex…the rawness of it all.  It seems to be that this genre when done well is so fantastic it’ll knock your socks off.  When it’s not done well, it’s about as bad as it gets.  I would say this book is in the high end of the genre for me.
We met Gabe and Ember in the first book in this series.  They are wandering through life, not letting anyone too close and certainly not letting anyone past the walls they’ve erected around their hearts.  But, their attraction to one another is instantaneous and magnetic, pulling them both in.  They try and fight it, but in the end, it’s futile.  When Ember’s life is threatened, Gabe goes into full ex-Army Ranger biker alpha mode (squee!!!); he finds that he’ll do whatever it takes to protect Ember.  Will it be enough?
One of the best things about this book to me was the straightforwardness of the central relationship between Ember and Gabe.  They both have their issues, but they also don’t play games with one another.  Both fiercely loyal and protective, I thought it was great when the tables were turned and Ember went to bat for Gabe.  I thought Ember’s character was awesome.  She is self-sufficient and just really cool.  She does not take shit from anyone, and challenges Gabe as much as she excites him.  And Gabe, while alpha and badass, recognizes the fragility of Ember’s heart and treats it with care for the most part.  That is hands down one of the best things about alphas when done right, and Gabe is done just right.  Plus, he’s sexy is as sexy does, and mama has no complaints about that.
This book also flowed very well.  I found it difficult to put down once I started it.  The banter between characters as well as the entire world it constructed was interesting and fun to read about.  This book breaks from the classic MC structure, but still maintains the grittiness and danger that embodies the MC lifestyle.  I thought that was great because it made this book stick out among the sea of MC books we’ve been inundated with lately.  It’s original and interesting.  I loved it.  4.5 stars.

I am a married mom of three perfectly crazy children (They get it from their father.) I'm in school for my BSN. I'm an avid reader and go through books like candy. Romance books are my vice, and you will never catch me not reading something. I've had Boomtown's story floating around in my brain for some time, and finally decided to just go ahead and write it.
